(look at it this way, the smaller the crowd of girls going for one band member, the better that bodes for you :p).

Fully understandable :). He is a quiet guy, isn't he? I'm one of the quiet ones, too(seriously, I'm much more chatty online than I am offline), so if I were to hang out with Jonny, we wouldn't have much of a conversation. Just a lot of awkward silence :laugh3:. I apparently seem to follow the "opposites attract" saying, then, because I always go for the lead singers-Chris is just the latest in that list, and they're by nature not quiet at all :p.

Well, you sure do seem to hang out in the threads for the guys often... Just what are you doing in there if not fangirling? Hmmmmmm?

I can be a definite fangirl sometimes, I freely admit that. But I like to think I'm a fairly mature one, and know when to get all girly and when to shut up and focus on something else. Maybe. Sort of? Hopefully.

Well, as you see, you've got another person in the Jonny camp there, so hey, the club's slowly growing (look at it this way, the smaller the crowd of girls going for one band member, the better that bodes for you :p).

There are in fact a lot of 'mature' fangirls, lol. For me, the music will always be my first priority. There's just a sweetness about Jonny. Well, all of them.

If I got to hang out with him I'd act more like a professional musician than a fangirl...just my nature. But afterwords, I'd still be doing the 'OMG OMG OMG dance'!

Wow!! Lots of Jonny lovers! Finally! :)

Although, I'd gladly give him up to Chris any day! :D

And I'd happily give Chris up to Jonny. If they are in love, they must go and be together . It's only right.

Agreed. The music is always what first gets me, too. Finding out the people behind the music are nice and smart and friendly and cool helps clinch things. And then finding one attractive? That's just a great bonus :).

I know, I've often thought about that, too, if I were to ever meet the guys. I'd try and remain as cool and calm and normal as possible. I'd probably say something to them they've heard a zillion times before, but oh, well.

Then after they left I'd blast the eardrums of everyone within hearing range with my excitement :D.

Ditto, although I know I'd be so tongue-tied I wouldn't be able to say a thing in their presence!

Wow!! Lots of Jonny lovers! Finally! :)

FOUR! Maybe he needs his own thread...oh, wait, he HAS one, lol.:D

I've been lucky enough to meet a few famous people over the year, so I'd be ok...ish,lol. I met Peter Gabriel when I was 22 and got totally tongue-tied and shaky. I was so embarrassed by that that I never let it happen again, but yeah, eardrums might be in jeopardy after the fact!:D

I've never met any. At all. My life has been void of such luck :(.

I love them all too, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be Jonny. Chris is AMAZING! But I've always liked the quiet ones, lol.:) I'm only aware of two dedicated Jonny fanatics on the board, lol. He doesn't draw the fangirls, but I'm not really the fangirl type...except when you corruptors coerce me,lol.

You're not buying it, are you? ;)

Nope LOL

Awwwww! Well, I now have that for my very own... thank goodness hubby doesn't snoop

in my computer, since I really think I'd have a hard time justifying that video,

let alone the hundreds of pics I've saved from here! :laugh3:

Yup, Buckin' will *always* win out in the end! <-- happy dance

OMG the same here.. if my hubby saw the - wait he does I have them on screensavers oh oops LOL - amount of photos... Oh well he knows me too well now.. we've been married 20 years this May... Glad we have another 'more mature' lady in here.. :D

Whoa, hang on there... if you're not counting me in those two, you should! I agree, all the guys are great,

but it's Jonny that made me fall in love with their music in the first place...

and yeah, as old as I am, I'm a diehard fangirl now! (jeez, can't believe I just admitted that! At least, it was somewhere safe... :escaping2: )

Yes.. safe LOL

Oh but I really love Jonny too, after Chris there is him. He is a great musician and a lovely boy, the kind of people I'd like to have as friend in my life [and when he was more young he really looks like my best friend, I can't not love him!]

And I'd happily give Chris up to Jonny. If they are in love, they must go and be together . It's only right.

Wow Peter Gabriel has always been a huge hero of mine too Tracie... wow..

Now you have to count me as a Jonny fan too... (OK Chris comes first :D) but seriously, if Chris was busy... (didn't I mention to you the other day that I 'might' have a Jonny file on my computer? ) (well I might ;)).. He just has SUCH a sweet smile, how could you not like him..? He is the calm one.. I can imagine him being the rock of the band. Plus he can play amazingly cool guitar, but doesn't ever show off! What a man.. oh and he is physically huge.. (minds OUT of the gutters girls!! :laugh3:)..

Did I mention I met him.. at the Little noises? Briefly albeit.. and behind a wire fence! but still :stunned: there I was dog tired after being on my feet all day, queuing, watching Chris and Jonny play and then waiting to see them after.. but even so.. I hardly managed two words.. they were a stuttered thank you.. when he signed my album.. but blimey he's tall.. I'm only 5'3 so... think long look up..! :laugh3:

So put me on the list.. if you want..

When I met Peter All I managed was a sweaty palm and a stammered 'It's an honour to meet you, Peter'. And I wasn't sure if I should even call him Peter, lol. I guess that IS his name! I have a photo of my best friend's 7-year-old son being spun around by him outside the Four Seasons in Boston A prized possession!

Actually, I suspect Will is 'The Rock' but I'd guess Jonny is the perfect balance to Chris' lovely madness.:)

People who have met him all say that he's the paragon of modesty. Just smiles and chats like one human being to another. Not a trace of 'Rock Star' about him. I've met people who have the world, and expect it, and it always impresses me when someone doesn't play the fame game. He's the epitome of that, from what I've heard. :)

K. Now I AM gushing like a fangirl, lol.I shutz up and goez away now.:D

That makes me really happy to hear that. It's so funny, he's sort of like Will in that his face seems to belie his actual personality. Sometimes I see a picture of Jonny and he has a look on his face like he'd be the sort of guy who'd be a really cocky jerk or something.

But no, turns out he's a real sweetheart and all down to earth by all accounts, apparently. Any guy who's as freely affectionate with a friend/particular bandmate as Jonny is has to go in my "cool people" book. And I agree about his guitar skills, too-his guitar on "In My Place", for instance, is what I imagine heaven must sound like. It's so incredibly beautiful and just makes that song what it is.

Loved your story, Row, that's really neat that you got that opportunity (same with you, Tracie, with Peter Gabriel. That's quite the impressive figure to meet!). I'm curious to see this photo you claim you have, too. Does his sweet smile show in it?

(Also, Row, congrats on upcoming 20 years of marriage :). Very cool)

My printer/scanner is effed, so I can't do a direct upload. Best I can do is take a photo of the photo and post it,lol. I'll see how it turns out...

Ohmigoodness, I had to read that twice for it to sink in... you got to MEET him? Holy, and you just say it so nonchalantly, too... :shocked2: Does he sound as sweet in person as he does in his interviews?

Wow, nothing wrong with tall... I'm only 5'3", too, and my hubby's a whole foot taller than I am... makes for great hugs, like being totally enveloped in love! :D (congrats on 20 years! hubby and I are coming up for 5 but we were apart for 15 years and then found each other again)

And I love the fact that you got to meet Peter Gabriel, Tracie, that is too cool... I used to love his music back in the time...

Yes, I'd love to see that too! :) I was and still am a huge Genesis fan.. particularly pre-Peter leaving.. and I love all his solo stuff too... thanks for the congrats Angela.. it certainly doesn't feel like 20 years, they've wooshed past..

I did meet an actor I have always liked (Alan Rickman) once or well three times actually... in fact one could, if one liked, suggest that my friends and I were kind of stalking him.. but of course that wasn't the case.... CLEARLY.. LOL.. but I was so so tongue tied I hardly stammered two words... the first time.. (this sounds familiar huh? LOL)... the second or third time I may have said other things, although it was probably gibberish.. I can't actually remember! But nothing fan girly, just I like your work.. sort of thing.. Of course afterwards I was FLYING! :laugh3:.

LOL.. sorry yeah, I really don't like to crow about it you know?? Yes I met him.. so so briefly.. we didn't get to meet Chris sadly.. but Jonny WAS SOOOO sweet.. so kind, all these loud Italian fans ( sorry no offence meant to Italians here!! ) were calling him over, going Jonny Jonny!! It was dark, cold and we were SO so tired after our whole day of waiting to see them... and he came over, otherwise I would probably have eyed him from afar.. and I probably wouldn't have even asked him to sign my CD.. Oh yeah.. I must have asked him to do that.. doh LOL.. so more than two words.. about four then! lol.. But if Mich here on the board, () hadn't prompted me to ask him to sign it, I really wouldn't have done.. but I am so glad I did.... I really didn't want to bother him.. you know? But he was lovely. I suspect he was tired, they'd done a TV show earlier in the day too.. then the gig.. but he came over to us all.. (Mich asked him (so coolly - if they were doing the x factor, and he agreed that they were) and we then left..

SUCH a wonderful day.. if you want to read my review of the day and my Little noises adventure, click on my website link below my siggy and go to the blog section.. It was an AWESOME awesome day... One I will never forget.

Totally understand not wanting to make a fuss. But hey, you're amongst friends, so a story like that every now and again is fun to hear :D.

That's so neat. I've no doubt he probably was tired, but it's cool that he still came over and talked with you guys and signed stuff. If I ever get that kind of luck someday, knowing how nice the guys are about it puts me that much more at ease :).

I'll definitely check out your site and such!

DO check out her site. I did! Even signed the Guestbook (Hope ya saw that, Row,lol.)

So here it is. A picture of a picture, lol. From 1992 or 93. Kevin is about 7 here, and at the time was a HUGE Gabriel fan, so this made his young life!!

And yes, the early Genesis (pre-Phil) is some of the BEST music ever made, imo!

EDIT: Just seeing this again makes me shiver in a lovely way!:D:D:D:D:D

A small bit of bragging: The 'friend' who arranged this also gave Kevin's Mom and I tickets to our first Coldplay show. God Bless Her forever! She's the one who told the story of their near melt-down in Boston that I've shared elsewhere on here. But now I've said too much, so will skulk away again. ;)

Awesome! Kevin's cute! Looks really happy.

I pretty much know the big songs from Peter's solo years (and love them-"In Your Eyes" is one of my all-time favorite songs by anyone. If Coldplay ever covered that one, I think I'd die happy) and have heard one song from his Genesis days. And that's about it. But I do love what I've heard from him.

Been looking at the site! I'll definitely post a comment/sign the guestbook.

Emmmm...mild, no HUGE, fangirl moment coming on...

If Chris ever sang In Your Eyes I would DIE!:D

So now all we need is for Coldplay to do Don't Give Up and let me sing Kate Bush's part. Then I really would be able to die happy. Ahhhh...daydreams,lol.

He's such a cutie-pie. He's nearly 30 now, lol. And he LOVES heave music. Not much into Gabriel anymore. I have his tour shirt from that tour. Also a prized possession, but so worn from wear that it's barely presentable. I'm thinking when he gets a bit older, he might want it ack,s o I'm hanging on to it.If he doesn't? ME FTW,lol.

I don't have kids, so he and his brother are like the nephews I get to spoil at Christmas and birthdays. Getting to give him that shirt back when his taste matures would be awesome!:D

But I really am in a gushy mood so I should STFU,lol. Night, Forum.:)

Aw. Eh, well, I'm sure he still treasures the memories. But yes, if he doesn't need the shirt, take it, it's yours, definitely! Either way, though, it's cool that you get to spoil him and have fun with him and such. Hopefully he'll come back around to that music someday.

I'm curious about that Boston story you alluded to, I'll have to go look for that.

YES. Yes x infinity (god, if I sang with the band, got to stand next to Chris and sing that while we looked at each other...um. Somebody'd have to carry me off the stage afterward and I'd have to pinch myself god knows how many times to be sure I'm not dreaming).

That's a great song, too, "Don't Give Up". So beautiful. Kate's part in that song always makes me cry. Her voice often tends to get me all emotional, though ("This Woman's Work", anyone?).

Man, we've gotten a bit off topic, haven't we :p? LOL. Good night. Sweet Jonny dreams!

OK, going to ;isten to This Woman's Work now. Effing amazing, and I ALWAYS cry when I hear it!

Not sure where I told that story, but it might have been in the RCT thread. Short version: Saw them at 11am at a Rock festival with acts like Greenday, The Cult and Maralyn Manson. The headliners were Aerosmith, and even THEY got pushed back by time constraints and noise bi-laws...ok, this isn't short, is it?

That early morning crowd was NOT there for Coldplay. Bood, threw water bottles, hurled abuse. The band were (I'm told) in tears backstage, and even talked about giving it up! Their US A&R rep gave them a pep talk, got them back on their feet and the next day in DC, Chris (apparently) flew around their dressing room going on about how they WOULD make it and show these a$$holes! I'm told that's where their 'group hug' tradition was born, but I don't know for sure.

I know SOME pats of this story are true, but not sure about all of it,lol. Still...I was there for that gig. Saw people treat them with cruelty that naw may kindly kiss their ass, lol!":D

Oh, right, that one! I remember that now. I thought you were referring to something else :laugh3:.

Ha, and I went to listen to "Don't Give Up" and now "In Your Eyes".

Yeah. Coldplay DEFINITELY needs to do "In Your Eyes". It's about as perfect a song as any for them to do.
