Why do you care for a band who have done nothing of note since circa2002?

Radiohead is just such a winney bunch! Sheesh, can't Thom get less nasal? I could probably sing better!:P (but what a great video - peter rabbit's woods..)

lol. You really don't like them, do you, Chuck?

I think they're musically quite good. Thom's voice annoys me on some songs...probably why I never became a hardcore fan. Don't get me wrong, RH fans, Chris's voice annoys me on some songs too, but I still love Coldplay.

No, Mimi, I don't want you dead, I'm just scared to go on there and ask myself, so I thought maybe I couold con someone else into doing it,lol!:wink3:

Radio-head: I like some of their stuff - let's put it that way, Tracie. Creative - yes, definitely; message - great; music I would listen to often - well, sometimes. It's different. I have to agree - it's nasal in excess - I think perhaps intentionally annoying, to call attention to it. Tonight I might check out some of their stuff, as it is interesting to listen to, and the videos are neat and full of symbolism.. Mode dependent.

But mostly I just wanted to get Briggins to react!:laugh3: (LOL).

Chris's voice - sometimes he's in that falsetto style - it's interesting as well to listen to, but I much prefer the normal octave range he occupies. (I keep thinking of Prince's music, which has been on the air lately - now there's high-pitched falsetto!) Anywhohow, with Eno helping, they should have a high quality, significant, and resonant set of songs; I rather fancy the thought of hearing their new release for the first time.

It's been said already that Chris is using more of his low range this time around. I'm honestly glad to hear that, because I much prefer his early falsetto to his more recent falsetto sound. And singing that way on tour is obviously taking a huge toll on his voice...somethig he needs to protect if he wants it for the rest of his life. After he damaged his throat, It never quite came back as rich as it was before. I know some other fans are going to be annoyed with me for saying that, But I'm saying it as a singing teacher's daugher. I can hear the difference. It's still just my personal taste, and he's still one hell of a talented singer, but I'm looking forward to more of his low voice.

I didn't know he damaged his throat..I just thought he took voice lessons to gain more control and range.

...you learn something new everyday...

I think it was when they started the North American leg of the Parachutes tour...correct me if I'm wrong. They even had to cancel shows, and Chris had surgery to remove nodes. You can still see the scar from it on his neck. An experience like that changes the structure of the vocal chords, and therefore, the sound of the voice. If you listen to his falsetto from one album to the next, you can hear subtle differences.

It's not that I don't want to hear him sing falsetto anymore, just that I love the fact that he's exploring his lower register...much more sexy, imho, lol.

I'm just hell hoping they put out a really awsome rock song...

but that's just me and I'll probably never see Coldplay go Hard rock (which I am happy about, I'm not going all punk on you guys just yet :P)

Just bring on a cool album with Chris' vocals not sounding to whack and I'll be happy....

I remember hearing radio reports about cancelled shows because of Chris's throat.

It's happenned to so many singers, it's actually tragic. Labels put you out on the road as long as ppl are buying tickets, and they don't give a damn if you don't have a voice in 50 years because they're making their monery NOW...and so is the artist, so half the time, the artist doesn't complain!

Sorry for the short rants, but I've seen this happen so often it makes me sick. Like I said before, I grew up with a singing teacher for a Mother, and even though she drove me nuts, I learned a lot from her, and it breaks my heart to see ppl out on the road for 17 months at a stretch killing themselves. I don't care how much you make touring. Your voice is your greatest gift, and you shouldn't blow it out for any amount of money!

I remember seeing Peter Gabriel in 1992 and while sitting in a Four Seasons lobby overhearing his management team trying to figure out how to keep him on the road even though he was sick as a dog and couldn't sing anymore...damage control. I mean, He wanted to stay out and tour, I'm not just blaming them, but it was literally killing him. Tours need to be shorter, and fans need to be more patient when it comes to seeing their favorite bands...Coldplay fans included! If we really 'love' our favorite artists, we should want to keep them around for a long time.

ok, rant over...for now,lol.

Oh...and putting all that serious crap aside for a minute...YOU BET YOUR ASS THEY'RE GONNA PUT OUT ONE HELLA GREAT ROCK SONG!!!!:D:D:D

^Made my day

I just want some new guitar riffs to learn, getting sick of all this Muse stuff I'm learning. Lol, which reminds me, my mum pronounces Muse 'moose', cracks me up every time I hear her say it.

ok, that completely got me over my serious trip, and here's why...

The 7 month old kitten I adopted is named Captain Hydro Pamplemouse, a silly name, I know. But that's what his owner named him. I've had him here for about 8 hours now, and he won't answer to 'Hydro', even though that's what he's used to...probaly because he's freaked out by a new environment and another cat. So I started calling him 'Moose' a while ago, which he seems to like. So reading that last post just made me laugh...I can't sleep until the cats are ok, so

I really needed a sign...and that was it!!!!:laugh3:

I think Moose does it

:laugh3:

What a hilarious conincedence...I'll think of your kitten everytime I see the word Muse or listen to their music

I think the fact the person that started this thread hasn't posted again proves he was taking the piss. Don't mean to spoil the party but this thread has turned into yet another boring "X&Y was alright and I'm now obsessed with Radiohead" discussion which has become the norm over the past few months amidst the "Coldplay have crap setlists, Chris Martin is horrible to fans, X&Y was horribly average" threads. How about locking this thread and getting back to predicting the Album 4 release date or whatever.

Heh, I've posted so little on the forum, but here's my reply.

First of all, Coldplay are one of the most acclaimed rock bands right now

First of all,you are wrong ! Because if you really think coldplay are ROCK you don't know what rock is

Oh i guess it's time for another moan....:dozey:

What's the point in arguing about this at all?

It is unlikely that the person who posted this will come back, but the trolls mission is complete when we argue etc about it.

We do seem to have a lot of those threads on here lately, don't we?

i'm with you on this one, rick. Its a waste of our time. And it was a waste of his/hers by coming here in the first place. So whatever. Lets move on

WHen I first read the post, I thought it might be an honest question, but since they never came back, it's clearly an upstart thread.
