Why do you care for a band who have done nothing of note since circa2002?

Featured Replies

I remember hearing radio reports about cancelled shows because of Chris's throat.

It's happenned to so many singers, it's actually tragic. Labels put you out on the road as long as ppl are buying tickets, and they don't give a damn if you don't have a voice in 50 years because they're making their monery NOW...

oh,poor singers with no money from the tour.......

This thread should be fire-bombed.

And Dejan, can you cool it with the pithy, arrogant one-liners and actually articulate a viable opinion instead of acting like you're talking to a bunch of preteen, Boy Zone fans? You're either trying to sound witty and go over people's heads, or knowledgeable about good music, but you're just coming off as an ill-informed asshole.

^Thanks, Frosty.:)

I happen to BE a singer and I happen to know what the FUCK i'm talking about. Just because you have fame and money doesn't mean you should be treated like a commodity rather than a human being.

ok, I'm done. Commence fire bombing!

Woot, you tell him, frost! :D

We do seem to have a lot of those threads on here lately, don't we?

Yeah I have noticed that a lot. And as much as I love Radiohead, it's getting really old with the superiority of Radiohead. It's like 'we get it, you don't like Coldplay anymore. Get over yourself.'

I was actually going to tell that one too eff off earlier..

I know. :dozey: Coldplay makes one average album [even though i think that X&Y is the best thing since sliced brrrread! :P] and some people are just like, "oh they're the worst" and jump ship! I mean, have a little more faith. They tried, and it didn't work out, jesus. And Im starting to like Radiohead but to me Coldplay will always be numero uno. You can't judge superiority on how long a band's been around and which band copies who. :dozey:

I loved X&Y, but I was listening to Coldplay so much for a while that I kind of got tired of them, so I listened to a bunch of new music for a while...not jumping ship, just looking around a little,lol.. Sure, Radiohead are great...really great...but I hope when 42(?) comes out that people will come back to the fold, lol.

Even if they don't (Briggins) I hope they still hang around here, because this place isn't just about Coldplay anymore. It's just as much about the people who post here and the rappor we've developed, imho.:)

didn't he just have a crap throat?

i wouldnt know :P...i guess we all learn something new everyday...was wondering what the scar on his neck was from

Yeah, people seem to think I'm a Coldplay hater now or something. I'm not, its just I haven't been in a big Coldplay mood for a while. I still think Parachutes is a great album, and some of the songs off of AROBTTH mean alot to me.

I think its just the stage of life I'm in right now that some music seems more relevant to me than others.

I have high hopes for the next Coldplay album. But its not like I'm dieing for a new release. I'm actually not deing for the release of any album right now as there is just so much other music out there I'm enjoying.

And yeah, this place isn't just for Coldplay fans, its about the people like Tracie said.

I'm sure there are people on atease who don't like Radiohead. And people on The Black Parade who don't like MCR. :P

But they stick around for other reasons.

In some ways all music is an outgrowth of older forms - each member of a band, each song has it's roots somewhere back in history; or, at the least, the first songs a band produces are new versions of older tunes. Thus, I think it is with Coldplay, the Beatles, The Stones, etc. - they had originals, but many replicas. So, it's a lot like fish in the sea - they're unique to each species, but there's a lot of common threads of DNA connected then all - to the African Rhythms and Sand Dances of legend.

So, there's shared stripes from one bass to another in the sea!:laugh3: It certainly is fun to speak to people all over the world on a personal/humorous basis, sharing common interests in music, and I feel a part of something larger in that sense as well! (and now back to our regularly scheduled classical music, already in progress..) a little Beethoven, please!:P

Happy Day Briggins!

...Some people just hang out on The Black Parade 'cause they love them rules!

if i put the radio on,sometimes i hear different bands other than Coldplay.

like Feist,Kaiser Chiefs and some other.......

i never listen to any other band apart from Coldplay,so

i don't even know some names of the bands:P

whatever...i don't even get impressed with their music....

Coldplay eventhough they play gigs or not,

even though this is life we grow old and see a lot of things.....,

they may not be in the existence for number of reasons....

but nothing impresses me as much as Coldplay.

its my favorite band that i ever listened.

I love Coldplay. I love their intergrity and their music. But unfortunately, teenage girl syndrome (TGS) has kicked in. That's not a exactly a bad thing althogether. When I was younger, all I cared for was Coldplay. Other music meant nothing to me, and I now realise, there is music just as good as Coldplay. What the bad thing is, I find myself sometimes forcing myself to listen to them, the desire and love for the band that is the reason I listen to music is nearly gone.

But at least now, through Coldplay, I have a great love for music that will never die (they're the reason I didn't quit piano, which I now realise that if I did, I would have never got to the level I am at now)

/rant over

I know how you feel Miss Snicket and Briggins.

I get tired of listening to the same 3 albums after a while, it's time for something new and fresh. It's hard to wait though, the break between AROBTTH and X&Y didn't seem as long compared to this one. But I see it as a good thing. When your favorite bands go on hiatus for a while it gives you an excuse to explore other music. (Like, i just discovered my love for Kate Bush :D and this indie rocker Marnie Stern. :D)

Ahhhhh...Welcome to Kate's fanclub! She's been a personal Goddess for me for YEARS! Dive into Wuthering Heights and wave your hands in the air for a while, and the wait for the new Cp album won't sem so bad!:D

I have Muse, The View and some other aussie bands to keep me entertained, without them I would surely go insane...
