I really love the live from The Basement version of Videotape. But the studio version doesn't really do it for me. It has to go.

Wow... this is harder than Kid A. :shocked2: I don't know.... I really don't even have a clue where to start. There isn't a bad song. And I love the new Videotape- I don't want it to go. Not first. Durr. Ok...ok.... House of Cards. "the infrastructure will collapse" is a clunker of a line enough to jar me every time I hear it.

 

Just as long as no one votes for Reckoner so I won't have to be administering any swift kicks to the head. :sneaky:

mmmm I love that line of HoC...favourite part of the song. I've been semi-working on a piano part for the song. I got some really cool sounding stuff at the end, but just have a crappy recording.

I don't really know where to start with this album, since there is not really a weak song on it, except maybe bodysnatchers, which I still think is kind of overrated. I'm voting for house of cards; its too graceful and slow.

why are people not voting off videotape first? by far the worst song on the album

:stunned: BUT HOW ARE YOU ALL VOTING VIDEOTAPE?! i think it's one of the best on the album!! during my first listen, that's the song that hit me most. i'm going to fight to keep it in!

 

i voted nude; it does the least for me out of all of the songs. but all the subsequent rounds are going to be extremely painful for me, perhaps even more so than kid A.

I love nude! mostly because of the : you'll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking' part :P

I have bad memories of it... headache :sick: But i was probably feeling a bit low then anyway so it's kind of unfair to blame the song

Videotape could have been a whole lot better than it is on the album. I was unfortunate to hear most of the songs on youtube before they released the album, and at least half of the live versions exceed the versions on the record. It was either that or House Of Cards, but I like that one a bit better.

i think it's going to be weird fishes and jigsaw, personally. i would have hoped for videotape and jigsaw, but weird fishes would be my next preference.

and i LOVE house of cards! well, i love all of them...but nude is my least fave.

i can't believe how many people don't like videotape. it's like my 3rd favorite on the album! but i voted for house of cards... i like the beginning but i think the rest of it is kind of boring.

People may disagree, but I think Last Flowers should have made the record instead of Videotape. That song is amazing. (And Go slowly instead of House of Cards)

I loved videotape before In Rainbows was released, I used to think it was one of the best songs they'd ever done actually. But the studio version just doesn't do it justice, i'm afraid. If you havn't checked out some of the live versions of it on youtube, you should!

^i have checked out the versions on youtube, and i think theyre absolutely brilliant. but i personally don't really see enough of a difference to see what makes those versions better than the studio one...whatever, to each their own :D. there's not a song on this album that i would be upset about moving on, so i suppose that means that there's nothing i'm too too upset about being eliminated. even if i was hoping for videotape and jigsaw to make it to the end.

 

and i think of all the things on disc 2, last flowers and especially down is the new up should have made it to the first disc, though i don't know what in place of. perhaps nude and...i don't know, all i need?

 

i think it's pretty great that everyone has their own song that their willing to fight for, whereas with most other albums, everyone's favorites in general are fairly similar. this one defies that, i think because it's their strongest album as a whole IMO.
