it was totally stupid to call it an island, seeing as it's not technically an island: it's long island, new york! but we go to the very very tip of it, which is very secluded and uncommercial. so i should have said i hope to find wifi in TOWN rather than having to drive 20 miles to civilization.

*whew* i found an FYE music store 21 miles from my beach house. that may sound far away, but my mom and i always go shopping at that shopping center when we're there, so i know where it is and can get there easily. so i suppose i'm set if i can't get internet access on june 16! that's still plan A, though. much easier, and doesn't involve wasting an hour in the car on a summer's morning, even though it IS for the best cause in the world. i'll pay for the gas!

Yeah I have a real problem with my body clock these days, although I did manage to force myself to go to sleep at 11pm yesterday... but thats another story.

The big question is will the big 4 supermarkets be fighting each other to get the lowest price like they did with X&Y?

 

Therefore, I'm going to be holding back and buy it on the day of release from a shop, only because the postal system has been a bit crap lately and new releases hasn't been getting to me until Wednesdays.

it was SOOOOO freakish to watch that movie and see my town (well, ok, my summer hometown) as the SET! the weirdest bit for me is near the beginning when he's sitting in the diner (which i've eaten in THOUSANDS of times!) and you can see the main town plaza behind him, like the store called whites that everyone goes to!

That's so awesome that they filmed it THAT close to where you go all the time!! I read in an interview that to get into character Kirsten Dunst said something like Jim would always be off somewhere with his headphones listening to Coldplay.

I'll use what ive learned second guessing release dates of games into context here.

 

Play / amazon / HMV genrally don't just guess the release date. They genrally have a stock list every month from manufactuers that may not be updated.

 

Id therefore say if more than one place has the same date its a good tendetive release date, but dont hold your breath.

They havn't yet updated the album name, though, it's still called Prospekt.

 

Is anyone actually going to pre-order this album? Personally I'm buying the physical disc on the day of release, but I'm curious of other people's plans.

i personally think pre-ordering is a waste of time and shipping money. you can download the album instantly to the computer, or you could go to a shop. i suppose if you live in a remote area and really want to have the physical CD then it makes sense, but i have bad luck with the mail and it wouldn't come when it needed to. i like instant satisfaction, namely downloading the thing at the stroke of midnight :D

 

as for me, this is my plan:

user martin the warrior on here says that it's coming out on 13 june in ireland where he is, and because i won't have internet access on the 17th, he's willing to get the songs to be before i leave on holiday! that's what it sounds like anyway, which makes my LIFE because i'll have the music without having to worry about downloading it ASAP or waiting in agony for a shop with wifi to open etc etc. i'm still planning to buy the physical thing, of course, so coldplay will still get their money from me!

the 13th irish release still is a bit fishy to me, but we'll see. i'm going to look for confirmation of that somewhere, but i'll come up with a plan B for getting it while i'm on holiday!

Yeah it's the 13th in Italy too, and if you live in big cities such as Rome or Milan and you find a very kind shop assistant, you can get it even the day before, even though they souldn't be allowed to sell it yet (that's what happened with a girl I know with the last The Killers album)

If you go into the Tesco in Andover at half-3 on the Sunday afternoon, by that time they normally have the new releases out on the shelves.

You forgot that Japan gets albums a week earlier than UK.
