March 25, 200818 yr Sparks / High Speed and We never change never intrested me on Parachutes, so I would always deny it greatness and classic status. Sparks is AMAZING!!! Better than Green Eyes and A Whisper
March 25, 200818 yr sparks is better than we never change, but that's just my opinion. it's the perfect nighttime song! when i heard it in wedding crashers, i TOTALLY wasn't expecting it and squealed a little in the theater.
March 25, 200818 yr Awwwwwwwwww that's so cute!! :nice: I actually got an inspiration from Spies for a story for a book. But I don't think I can really pull it off well, because the whole story itself is complicated. And it has a '1984' vibe to it..so. Yeah. I wouldn't get much credit for it. :disappointed: That's really cool. Spies always had that 1984 vibe for me, so I'm sure the story would be great!:) I haven't listened to Parachutes for a VERY long time, but last time I did, I was singing along with Everything's Not Lost, remembering the shows I'd sung along to it at. Thinking of that just gives me shivers!! It's nice to see all the joy and anticipation around here for a new album. :D*dusts off parachutes*

Oh right! Our stories! Hehe yeah I have all these story ideas that I got inspiration from Coldplay songs....I should share some here sometime. :D I think I told you the one from 'Amsterdam', right?
March 25, 200818 yr oh yes, i loved that one. and i'm the same way, but i'm just more embarrassed by mine because they seemingly don't have much to do with the songs themselves to anyone else, probably. still, though, i take a soviet history course, so spies really makes me think of soviet cold war russia. and we have a kick-ass spy museum in washington DC here that is SO COOL and makes me think of spies every time.
March 26, 200818 yr Ahh Parachutes, how I love you. I hope that the new album is at least half as fresh as that album.
March 29, 200818 yr Had a huge Parachutes moment in the car yesterday, listening to it for the first time in a long time. When I got to the bridge in Shiver that always kills me "and it's you that I see, but you don't see me..." I was literally shivering all up and down my spine. It was so great. :nice: Also realizing that Parachutes and AROBTTH sound better in the car than most albums I listen to. Something about the way they were mixed keeps the engine from muddying up the sound. It's cool. Awwwwwwwwww that's so cute!! :nice: I actually got an inspiration from Spies for a story for a book. Write it! Most stories start out like that... it will change as you get it down on paper and go through other drafts. The worst thing is to abandon a good idea before you even start.
March 29, 200818 yr Yeah Parachutes is my fav. I learnt how to play Spies today and my music teacher said it sounded groovy and he quite liked it and hes into some weird stuff. Its so cool, the whole album is amazing!!!

March 30, 200818 yr Parachutes is the only album where I go through phases with different tracks, right now it's.... Life is for living. (a strange choice I'm sure you'll agree, and a bitch to repeat! having to skip to the end of everythings not lost)
March 30, 200818 yr Aw, I adore Life is for Living. :nice: Have you ever seen the Brackenwood version? It's adorable. http://www.biteycastle.com/sageWindow.html
March 30, 200818 yr Are there no Coldplay fans here who bought Parachutes within a week of it's release? I remember buying it at the age of 8 because Yellow was so brilliant. It was truly the first album I fell in love with. I have doubts as to if any album could ever knock it off.

March 31, 200818 yr Aw, I adore Life is for Living. :nice: Have you ever seen the Brackenwood version? It's adorable. http://www.biteycastle.com/sageWindow.html I haven't, but I will certainly check it out now, I have the audio version from the live 2003 dvd on my myspace profile though. :laugh3: Thanks for the link  EDIT: I just watched it, totally awesome, the animation was pretty cool and it went well with the song :D thanks. xo

March 31, 200818 yr ^ditto on that. chris singing that song in the studio version gets me every time, no exceptions. i love belting it out when i'm driving because no one can make fun of me then. SUCH a brilliant song.
August 19, 200916 yr I just had the most wonderful Parachutes moment today completely out of the blue. I hadn't listened to it in ages and somewhere between Yellow and Trouble the thought hit me like a lightning bolt: "This is why I love music." Corny, but true.
August 19, 200916 yr ^I do. Fairly often, actually, considering how rarely I listen to Coldplay these days.
