January 28, 200719 yr thanks  could you post their earlier works? Erm... :\ Well, I actually don't have them... But this album is gonna keep you busy for a while...
May 12, 200719 yr as a fellow who is really interested in this band.. what album should i start with?
May 12, 200719 yr i started with Frances the Mute and really enjoyed it and therefore made me buy Amputechture. FTM is more of a concept album and its songs are long and meld into each other so there is no clear distinciton at times where one ends and the other begins. also if you try burning to a cd the number of the songs goes haywire because of this lack of distinguishing the songs as single entities Amputechture each song can be clearly distinguished they don't follow a concept as such so its more like your regular albums. um hope that helps i'm sure more people will give you their opinions. btw they're awesome live! saw them at concert cedric dances as if possessed by supernatural forces lol.
May 12, 200719 yr thanks, that sort of clears some things up for me. one question though, what about 'De-Loused in the Comatorium' ? It's apparently their most popular one, well thats only according to last.fm. so, have you listened to it or anything? btw they're awesome live! saw them at concert cedric dances as if possessed by supernatural forces lol. oh wow!! thats really intriguing. i like! :wacky:
May 12, 200719 yr 'De-Loused in the Comatorium' is their most popular really? well then i must have it! sadly though i have not got that album. is televators in that album? i saw the video on youtube and liked the song.
May 12, 200719 yr yep, it is. here you go: http://www.last.fm/music/The+Mars+Volta/De-Loused+in+the+Comatorium

May 17, 200719 yr Wow so a decent thread about this terrific band has been started ! I've been away for a while so couldn't see it earlier. I love this band very very much, and own Frances The Mute. This album is really fantastic, from scratch to end (including the song Frances The Mute as first track). It makes me think of my favourite band of all time Pink Floyd, with Robert Plant's voice, some more violence and a latin-like side which I love. Strongly recommend to all that don't already know. Let's keep this thread going on !
May 18, 200719 yr ^yeah i like the way you described it. Cedrics hair is kinda like Robert Plants like too hehe.
May 18, 200719 yr I've read on wikipedia that they covered Pink Floyd's Interstellar Overdrive. Is it true ? And if so, could anyone give me an audio of that ?
October 14, 200817 yr Hello. I'm reviving this thread because I think everyone should know this band, maybe the best musical experience in this decade. I've been away since may 2007 and i'm shocked no one talked about them since then !! Everyone who reads this, just check them out, they kick ass. I saw them live last march, and it was the most mind-blowing concert I ever attended.
May 8, 200917 yr Well, there is an album coming out in less than two months, so I don't wanna see this thread leave the firs page of WoM till then... Octahedron, June 22nd !!
May 9, 200917 yr Well, there is an album coming out in less than two months, so I don't wanna see this thread leave the firs page of WoM till then... Octahedron, June 22nd !! Are we going to be treated to both Omar and John F on one album again?:D
May 11, 200917 yr Exactly. The only persons missing from the staff are Adrian Terrazas-Gonsalez and Paul Hinojos (Saxophone and Sound manipulation).
May 15, 200917 yr There you can find a live recording of what's gonna be the first American single off Octahedron, "Since We've Been Wrong". [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhN2AfMTZ60]YouTube - The Mars Volta - Since We've Been Wrong[/ame]

June 10, 200917 yr The Mars Volta I couldn't find a thread on this band. Are there any fans on here? I'm really looking forward to their new album. They've put out four perfect albums already, so I'm hoping the new one will be just as good.
June 19, 200917 yr Sweet. :) Have you heard the leak of the new album? I was going to wait, but curiousity got the best of me. It's a really great album (I'm of course going to buy it on Tuesday.)
June 23, 200917 yr I bought it today, and listened to it. It's a good album, but I doubt it's gonna be as brilliant as the first three, which were absolute masterpieces.
