The news was revealed by Jo Whiley on Radio 1 this morning (April 25) but has caused confusion with fans after she first said that Martin had left the band. Following a number of phone calls from Coldplay followers Whiley was forced to clarify the situation, saying that Martin is in fact working on material for another project. April 25, 200818 yr I've just listened to the whole show back and it was so clear she was kidding, she first said Coldplay broke up and then laughed and then said they hadn't but Chris had left the band, then laughed again. Can't believe people rang in thinking it was real. Maybe the cascada thing was a joke too.

The timing just seems so weird to me. Theres no way he's working on it now, days before a single comes out

For the past months, even during the hysteria over the website and album titles, we still have yet to hear anything that makes this album seem "real". namely, music. There's such an indescribable suspense over how this album, these songs, and jonny' solo will sound, but I still feel very disconnected from it without having any music to place next to the song titles...and now, in just a few days we'll have some actual coldplay to listen to every hour on the hour until the album is released.

I got that same thought in my head that I'll be listening to it every hour until its released. Tuesday is the first day back at school for me so its gonna be a tough day concerntrating. April 25, 200818 yr I can understand the collaborations with Kanye and Jay Z and the like (just) but Cascada? I've never heard of them until now but that Youtube video doesn't look promising. Why on EARTH would Chris collaborate with them, of ALL people? And whoever said that Will needs to knock some sense into him, is right. I'm not going to fully believe it yet, though. But its good that she gave such positive reviews on the album :nice: I like the sound of Yes being brooding, it shows that there is in fact some darker material on the album. Not too sure about the 'Gospel like' atmosphere of Reign of Love, though. We'll see. But yes, I seem to recall hearing Jo Whiley announce the full album title about a month or so ago, and she was sniggering while she was saying it. Its not the first time she's stirred up the Coldplay fanbase.
