April 28, 200818 yr I voted 4 stars, didn't expect it to be anything like the old minimalist sort covers and it couldn't be anymore different. Was shocked at first but now I see it as a great cover!
April 28, 200818 yr it's good but I expected something else ! still like it though :) and well done to the people who said it'd be the artwork weeks earlier !
April 28, 200818 yr haha, in my art class we've been watching jefferson in paris, which is a movie about, well, thomas jefferson in paris at the time of the french revolution. the thing is, gwyneth paltrow plays a pretty major character in it, and given the comfirmation of the artwork today, i just could NOT get the coldplay connection off the brain in class! :D
April 28, 200818 yr hmm. the whole similarity in artwork and title of this album is somewhat concerning me. coldplay either talked to this band previously and they agred to let them do a similar thing, or they're going to get MAJOR flak for copying. vs.
April 28, 200818 yr The painting is amazing but it's a bit unexpected to use it as an album cover, neverthless i'm more concerned about the music. If there are at least 4-5 decent songs,i'll be more than setisfied :)
April 28, 200818 yr it might be a homage.. I dont know this band Dragon ash.. does anybody know if they're good ?
April 28, 200818 yr are they still around? apparently that album was released in '99 (according to wikiped)
April 28, 200818 yr i've never heard of them, which is why if it's a homage, i think it's kind of a useless one. it's one thing to do a homage to really famous album art, like dark side of the moon or abbey road or something, but some little japanese band that most people have never heard of? even if they're really good, i think the point of the cover completely goes over most everyones' heads. i'd like to hear them discuss this in some interview this summer.
April 28, 200818 yr Is this going to be the new artwork? Ive the same picture in my history book rofl and its creepy!
April 28, 200818 yr ^^ idea for another question on the today show ! exactly my thinking ;) right after i wrote that post i went and asked another question on their site! :D
April 28, 200818 yr Chris made his graduation in ancient world history. So he might be having even good idea about what about all those paintings, which's fine like that.
April 28, 200818 yr exactly my thinking ;) right after i wrote that post i went and asked another question on their site! :D I saw it ! :) i feel sorry then why do you feel sorry ??
April 28, 200818 yr Chris made his graduation in ancient world history. So he might be having even good idea about what about all those paintings, which's fine like that. French Revolution = Ancient world history? for me ancient is like Greek and Latin.. not things that happened just 2 centuries ago.. but well i'm sure that those studies had allowed him to get general knowledge in Arts and History anyways. :)
April 28, 200818 yr As i said in the other thread, i bet it's Johnny's idea :D last summer i've met him in the Louvre. And i just remembered that we were in french painters room :D
April 28, 200818 yr anyway even 2 centuries also is considered as history in India, thats from where i am! yes is History, but from what i had studied French Revolution is considered as the begining of Contemporary History and not Ancient... well don't mind. :)
April 28, 200818 yr As i said in the other thread, i bet it's Johnny's idea :D last summer i've met him in the Louvre. And i just remembered that we were in french painters room :D You met Jonny in the Louvre ??? :stunned:
