I chose Alexander as my Confirmation name, so my middle names are James Alexander.

i didn't knew that you can choose another name for your confirmation :surprised: thanks to let me know... so you can change your name completelly?

i don't have any, because my dad says that is enough to have just a name, as it is important itself and no need any companion...

stephanie.

yeah.

^that's my favourite song of all time. if I'd been named after that i wouldn't be so sexually frustrated right now *sigh*

It's a Catholic thing incase anyone doesn't know, and perhaps other religions also? I am Catholic anyway, well, was. You don't change your name completely, but you can choose another name to go in between your first and last names (and after your middle name if you have one) when you get Confirmed.

When you are born, your parents have you Baptised - you have no choice when you're that young. But when you're older and understand God, religion etc more, you basically decide if you want to stick with that faith or not, and Confirmation is confirming your belief in God and all that jazz. I haven't been to church much since I got confirmed - I'm not a very good catholic!

Has anyone changed their name?

Has anyone changed their name?

Nope, but I would seriously consider it. In particular changing my last name. I don't think it would be a huge deal to do that honestly.

Adrian is my middle name ..... no taking the pee as its my dads first name !!!

i'm a catholic too, i hadn't done the confirmation because there are things that i don't agree with (Church), but i consider myself a believer, as i think and believe what Jesus Christ said, one of the main things he said was: a man don't need to go to pray or to attend a mess in the sinagoge, if God is all around, just have to pray wherever you are and so God will listen to you. :) i believe in that so i don't go to church that often but i pray daily.

having said that was one of the things that made him a revolutionary, for his own people, and is what should make a great differerence between may other 'confessions' of christianity i think...

thanks for explain that Chris

i'm thinking about this thing of 'change your name'... i always thought to change my name once i were an adult (kids were too annoying making jokes about it :dozey:)... may be if i do the confirmation one day i'll change it.. if so i'll keep my name and so add those two:

Providencia Sofía

(sofia for the meaning (greek. sophia=knowledge) and providencia because is my grandma name, not a common name but is a reference to Virgin Mary in her area (Providence)).

It'll be cool. :nice:

I want to change my last name to Martin so my name would be Chris Martin :D How sad of me lol.
