^ Cormac McCarthy. :) I read The Road this summer too, and I liked it very much! Quite different from what I usually read, but I was moved by the characters.

I finished reading The Road this week. It went straight up my top ten (maybe even top five) favourite books. I'll try to read something else by Mccarthy soon (Blood Meridian or No country for old men).

Yesterday I was actually laughing but because of an Italian sketch I was watching, my dad came in and said: "What?! Can I laugh too? Right, but I could never understand, could I? :dozey:"

^I'm adding my comment under spoiler. I'm a bit of a loudmouth when it comes to books, so don't read if you don't want any details on the book :)

 

 

Briefly, it's the journey of a son and a father through a wasted, desolate and dangerous land. They're trying to escape from it and, while at it, there's always some sense of being followed and watched from afar, by unseen, hiden eyes. However, amidst all this desolation and fear, there's the delicate and gentle relationship between father and son.

 

The song No sound but the wind, by Editors was quite clearly based on the book. Many of its lyrics are excerpts from the book.

 

After a long week of school the first thing you do when you get on your laptop is to look at pictures of coldplay
