BigSteve
Brixton Academy Setlist Sooo now all the ticket mess is over what kind of setlist do people expect from this show. I guess this applies to the Barcelona and New York shows too. Will it be the whole Viva la Vida album or a mixture? Will there be just 8-10 songs? 15-18? What do people think?
homebird
Yeah now this is a tough question. But i do not think that itll be just the total Viva La Vida. Mixture of mostly Viva La Vida plus a few older songs. It might also be a bit shorter list who knows...We shall see!
Tonsu
I'm pretty sure it'll be 5 or so songs from VLV plus 8 or so (probably one or two more) 'golden oldies'. With the main tour starting so soon, it'll be an (at least almost) fully-fledged practice run. I still hope to be able to find a ticket, and to join the leaping masses for this one :)
nathey42
I managed to get only 1 ticket in the scramble on Ticketmaster yesterday, so I'm braving it on my own. I just want people's opinion on here, as my ticket is circle seating (upstairs) it says unreserved so does that mean it's going to be a free for all to get the best seats on the night? Also as I'm on my own, I'm worried that if I rush to get a reasonably good seat i won't be able to leave it all night. This means that if I decide to go and queue a while before the doors open, i'll either have to dehydrate myself or cross my legs for a good few hours! As for someone pinching your seat, chat at least a little to the people you're next to, and ask them to keep your seat while you leave it. I'd even leave a jacket or bag on it (not of any great value of course). Even without all this someone would be pretty rude to pinch your seat, and certainly deserve an ear-bashing till they left. <edit> I'm almost certainly going up on the night to try to get a ticket. Can anyone who's been to Brixton recommend a good spot to hang around looking ticketless but hopeful?

Jamie1968
Thinking of buying a ticket Hi, I have a chance to buy some tickets for Brixton, but am concerned about the risk ie the security process/checking involved, so am apprehensive about doing the deal. Can anyone (either with tickets in their own name or purchased from someone else) give me the inside knowledge on this? ie will it be possible to 'fake' my name and thereby guarantee my entry? cheers, Jamie

sandi102
Hi Jamie, in the Brixton tickets thread, if you go to the last page, you will find this post from Ron Burgandy. He has somehow uploaded a picture of the tickets and posted this message: Here are the golden tickets. Poor quality in case they get forged... For info, Ticketmaster told me this morning that all the tickets are barcode scanned at the venue as well as being ID checked. I'll be interested to see how the touts deal with this outside, the whole sheet of A4 is the ticket. The tickets are on a sheet of A4 that you print yourself after Ticketmaster email them to you. There is a normal looking ticket at the top and another barcode in the bottom corner. They are both in the name of the winner and the 2nd ticket holder has to be accompanied by the named winner who has to provide ID. Easy.
Jamie1968
Thank guys, The million dollar question is this: when they scan the barcode does the ticket holders name come up for them to check against your id and paper ticket ? OR Do they have a 2 stage process - ie, first line of checking (by bouncers) to ensure your id matches the ticket followed by a simple barcode reading to say whether your ticket is valid or not. Any ideas? Jamie

sandi102
hey guys. I have a ticket and my partner is arriving seperately, but we have to go in together, otherwise his ticket becomes invalid. Doors open at 6.30, but I'm going to arrive early and try and be first in the queue. I arrive into Kings Cross at 2.45. I'm going to try and find a Waterstones and get a book to read, whilst i make my way over to Brixton for 4pm and start queuing. I know this seems mad, but if its a stand wherever you like, then i want to be as close to the stage, as I can possibly get.
Ron Burgandy
Have fun all those going. I've given up on any hope of getting a ticket. The amount that have appeared on various websites just makes me even more disappointed. Touts will always win and the genuine music fan will always be out of pocket. BigSteve
If i go early i'll most probably be there by 4 ish. Brixton academy is just supurb wherever you stand really but the main reason i wanna get there early im coz its such a perfect chance for some great pictures and the only real chance of getting so close to the band! Btw just out of interest was this originally said to be over 18s only?

If allowed, i would've taken my 8yr old son. we haven't been able to tell him that we're going tomorrow night, otherwise he'd throw a total temper tantrum and not talk to us for a week!! However, he has got front row tickets to see them in Dec (his first ever arena concert!!)

Its not the fact that im under 18 i was just wondering really. Ahh thats a shame, at Brixton the normal rule is that under 14s have to be seated in the circle and i guess as the tickets were randomly allocated they couldn't do much about it. Suppose i may see you in the queue tomorrow! lol

I don't know London hugely well, but last time I was there stayed on Tottenham Court Road. Google Maps shows this as the driving route but if you zoom in you can see the tube stations. There's Borders & Waterstone's on Oxford Street pretty close to Oxford Circus tube. Tube route planner shows that Oxford Circus goes straight to the Brixton stop on the Victoria Line, with no changes.
