Coldplay to play "Hidden Gigs" for Crisis in Liverpool and Newcastle

November 9, 2010 11:20 am

Coldplay announce two charity Christmas shows

anicenewpictureofcoldplay.jpg

Good morning. We're pleased to report that Coldplay will play two intimate Christmas gigs to draw attention to the problem of hidden homelessness and to raise vital funds for Crisis, the UK charity for single homeless people.

The "Hidden Gigs" will take place in Liverpool on 19th December and Newcastle on 20th December.

The venues will remain hidden until 24 hours before Coldplay step on stage. This gives gig-goers a small taste of the uncertainty faced by the thousands of homeless people who do not know where they will spend the night. Both venues have been hand-picked by the band for their intimate nature, and each has a capacity of around 1,000 people.

General tickets go on sale at 2pm this Friday (12th November) from http://www.seetickets.com/hidden costing £50. There will be an allocation available to Coldplay.com users, using the code CP4CRISIS when you buy.

All other general sale tickets will be sold to people living in and around Liverpool and Newcastle. Only those with a credit/debit card registered to billing addresses with the following postcodes will be able to buy these tickets:

Liverpool: L1 – L40, CH25 – CH32, CH41 – CH49, CH60 – CH63

Newcastle: NE1 – NE49, NE61 – NE71, SR1 – SR9, DH1 – DH9

Click here for a full breakdown of the eligible postcodes.

There will also be an auction of 200 general admission tickets available to anyone around the world. Plus, 30 meet & greet tickets will be auctioned for each gig, which will include early entry, champagne reception, best seats in the house, meet & greet with Coldplay, photo opportunity & access to VIP bar. The auctions will run for one week from 12 November at 2pm, again via http://www.seetickets.com/hidden.

All proceeds from all tickets will go to support Crisis’ vital work for single homeless people. For more information on that, please head to their website.

Good friends of the band Ant & Dec will be travelling home to Newcastle for Christmas and have offered their compèring services for the Newcastle night. Supporting Coldplay on both dates will be the Choir with No Name, an acclaimed vocal choir made up of homeless people and others on the fringes of society, including clients of Crisis.

Anchorman

OMG! :freak: I just fell right back into fangirl mode. I have to go. I have to, have to have to.

Okay, I need to calm down a bit. AH!

(And how handsome are they! Look at Will's smile :wacky:)

And is it just me, or does it look like they have a new clothing "theme"? You know what that could mean...

COOL! Unfortunately I'm broke or at least, as much as I love Coldplay and respect Crisis, I can't really afford this. Not around Christmas time.

EW THEY'RE DRESSED LIKE OLD MEN

Maybe the new record has some nostalgic thing to it?

We can rule out space...

Or the flowers match the plants...

They're not dressed like old men! They look very smart, I think

Let's just say it's an intriguing new look.

I think I´m dead!

My husband told me to go, if I can get a ticket, but I have no idea how to get one. I don´t know anyone nearby Liverpool.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand I'm back into Coldplay fangirl mode.

I think they look really smart! Cute!

Haha, couldn't help but laugh at the file name of the picture: 'anicenewpictureofcoldplay'.

Nice indeed.

I guess not, your adress has to be from Liverpool or Newcastle, you have to pay with credit/debit card and adress has to be compatible with postal codes they gave :\ something like that

Edit: oh wait, maybe you are right :shame: now im confuse, cause there will be an international auction as well :wacky:

But when you read these two paragraphs together:

Another thing just popped into my head. While I don't think they're dressed like old men as tauiwi mentioned, I DO think the style looks old... antique... as in something you'd see in ANTIQUE PHOTOS. :awesome:

Weren't the Viva outfits Guy's idea? Maybe he's also designing their look this time around too?

Oh, I don't know. They're all wearing overcoats - they could just be cold! And Guy's wearing a scarf but Will isn't! LOL JB looks much better now that he's groomed. And Will's the only one who's really smiling :smug:

Chris is smicing! :smug: (Smiling with your eyes, if you don't follow Top Model :P)
