Phil Harvey says thanks for his stamps

13 November 2013 7:22 pm

Coldplay fans sent stamps from all over the world

news_line.png

Good evening. Following last month's request from Coldplay's fifth member / creative director for stamps, you folks sent them from all over the world. It was an incredible response, and Phil asked us to pass on this message:

Massive thank you to everyone who sent in stamps. Your generosity never ceases to amaze me. PH

We can also reveal that the winner of the bag of Coldplay goodies is Catherine McCartney from Sydney, Australia. Congratulations Catherine! And, again, thanks to everyone who sent a letter.

Good evening. We're very pleased to report that the auctions of the band's Mylo Xyloto tour instruments and outfits have raised an incredible £33,820. All proceeds will go to Kids Company's work with disadvantaged young people in London and Bristol.

Said Chris in a tweet after the auctions ended: "Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the MX auction. We and Kids Company are very grateful. (Clearly we have the world's greatest fans, but shhhh don't tell anyone)"

Remember, you can still bid for tickets for the Under 1 Roof show for Kids Company in London on 19 December by clicking here. Or, if you're in the UK, you can buy a raffle ticket for £1 to be in with a chance of winning VIP passes.

UPDATE: You can now bid for Viva Pudsey on Children In Need's eBay page by clicking here

--

Good evening. BBC Children in Need has launched a collection of eight very special versions of its Pudsey bear mascot to be auctioned to raise funds for the Charity. One of them is the Viva La Vida Pudsey.

Coldplay said: “Being allowed to dress Pudsey up in a Coldplay style is a massive honour. Viva La Vida Pudsey is made of trims from the actual outfits we wore in the Viva video so he's basically a band member. We hope he'll go to a great home and raise lots of money for a very important cause.”

If you would be interested in bidding for Viva La Vida Pudsey, then please contact [email protected] (using "Viva La Vida Pudsey" as the subject).

The eight bears - which also include Pudseys designed by Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Terry Wogan, Dame Shirley Bassey, Brian May, Dame Judi Dench, Joanna Lumley and Dame Helen Mirren - will be exhibited at St Pancras International station in London until 17th November.

BBC Children in Need's aim is to make a positive change to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

How come I can't tell what the pattern is? Does it mean anything?

They are small icons based on the five albums covers.

Why are there just 2 lines for Viva?

I suppose it represents the red/black stripes with VIVA written on them. Only that 4 stripes next to each other would be too wide for a fitting symbol that has the same measurements like the other ones.
