Pseudonym Posted May 27, 2008 Share Posted May 27, 2008 I've seen a lot of complaining from people in other parts of the world about having to wait until the 11th of June for the new album VLVODAAHF, and I think they should stop because we get it last! For the true fans that won't listen to leaks and want to actually buy the abum, we have to wait 6 more days than some other people. Also, what's it going to be like for us on this site? For those 6 days, everyone will be discussing an album we still won't have heard! I'm going to have to stay away from this site for 6 days to avoid spoilers, I want to experience everything for myself. I think I would have to download a leak from us brits. then buy the album when it comes out aswell. I don't see why it would make such a difference, but different people have different morals and such. It's kinda unfair that the US are getting it SO late. I mean, chris said they were getting it out on the 12th over here to coincide with the worldwide release, yet that doesn't really make much sense with it being 5 days later from the UK and the US. I know its so unfair. And its not really a moral issue about downloading the leak. I just love to get a new CD, bring it home, lock myself in my room, and make sweet love. Just kidding about that last part, but I like to listen to it with album artwork, possible lyrics, everything altogether. You know, make it special. I, as well as other coldplayers I'm sure, have been anticipating this album ever since rumors of its existence surfaced seemingly so long ago, and I'm going to enjoy it properly. I will buy it in CD form on the north american release date, take it home, pop it in, make sure I won't be disturbed, and listen to the whole thing from start to finish. Even if the album leaks tomorrow, I will not download it, in fact I will not come to the site anymore until the release date if that happens. I'll pre-order the cd from amazon, but I'm downloading it the minute it leaks, just like I did with X&Y...come to think of it I don't think I've ever played the cd...only put it in my computer to rip it at a high bit rate. Enlighten me on why you won't listen to a leak? How does that make you a truer fan then someone else who listens to a leak but still purchases the album? I personally just prefer to listen to it with the CD, artwork, and case. Congratulations. You've made me look like a fool, and you're right, I said 2 different things. My true feelings are that a "true fan" would buy the album no matter what, even if they listen to a leak. I dont care if you listen to a leak, I just dont personally want to. I was convinced by someone that if you want to listen to a leak, that's your choice. But I guess I did imply 2 different things within the same thread. Well my new band was trying to come up with a name, and we chose "Contradiction" as a possibility. People in the US as a whole expect to get everything first all the time, and most of the time you do, espcially with movies and video games. Think about the rest of the world once in a while. As a videogamer myself, the European and Australian continent have experienced countless waits, often lasting several months, for certain games. People in the US as a whole expect to get everything first all the time, and most of the time you do, espcially with movies and video games. Think about the rest of the world once in a while. As a videogamer myself, the European and Australian continent have experienced countless waits, often lasting several months, for certain games. I only watch movies on Netflix after theyve been out for quite a while, and I dont play video games, so none of that applies to me. The biggest event of this year for me is this album so I think I can want the album soon and still "think about the rest of the world". If I do download a leak, I'll still buy the album, but I know a lot of people wouldn't do that. So is it simply a duplication and distribution issue? Since they are from the UK, I think it is fair that it comes out their before here in the states. I hate that I have to wait, but it's not that big of a deal. I always wait! I just don't read what other people write about it for the most part until I have heard it. Granted sometimes you can't avoid some comments. But, for the most part it works. I have been tempted to listen to some before it comes out, but I usually just wait. The only songs I will listen to are the ones that the band has actually given listeners the opportunity to hear or download through their sites before an album comes out. I like the excitement of waiting and then buying the cd and popping it into my player and listening to it for the first time in its entirety. They should make it available on itunes on the same day as the japan release. I don't mind paying twice (for cd copy and digital copy) for the album if I can hear it before the 17th.
