Setlist

Any guesses for what the setlist might be for the tour. I remember seeing a picture not too long ago with a list of songs on them, cant find that picture though. It will obviously mostly be The new album songs. But songs like Yellow, Fix You and The scientist will surely be included?

No guesses, but I wonder if they're sick of playing "Clocks" and 'The Scientist" every single show

Don't forget Clocks dude! And probably Don't Panic, Shiver *fingers crossed* I'm guessing more of a return to their classic material lol

And you can NEVER get sick of Clocks and Scientist - they said they haven't played any old material in 1 & 1/2 years so...it'll be fresh as daises to 'em!

I am REALLY hoping for Shiver. That's one I've always wanted to hear live, but haven't had a chance to yet.

The Escapist or Life In Technicolor

Violet Hill

Clocks

In My Place

42

GPASUYF

Shiver

Lost!

Speed Of Sound

Sparks

Don't Panic

Chinese Sleep Chant

Yes

Cemeteries Of London

Strawberry Swing

Yellow

Fix You

I will be happy if they DON'T play Fix You :nice:

I want to hear songs like Shiver...... Green Eyes......Daylight.....Violet Hill.......Trouble.

and Spies...... but that will NEVER happen I bet.

I was gutted when they stopped playing that live, it's pretty awesome. Finger's crossed they bring it back.

The one song I want them to include is SQUARE ONE and for them to have that big screen with the digital clock, but I doubt they will have that now... as an encore maybe? Hmmm.

GPASUYF, Warning Sign, Low, Shiver and See You Soon would be nice.

It would be awesome to see Amsterdam back in the mix, maybe that before Fix You...?

Yellow is mandatory.

I pray for A Message but its not going to happen. :( In response to that list. I would of thought Viva La Vida would be included as they are releasing that as a single.

Thing that made me laugh about the last tour, was that it was called the X&Y tour, yet they didn't blimin play it

Actually, I think it was the "Twisted Logic" tour- or at least, the US leg was. Either way, they didn't play Twisted Logic!!!! Or X & Y, which is, after all, the title of the album.

It was actually called Twisted Logic Tour :P but ur right it was a tour to promote the album and there wasn't much in it....anyway heres a hoping

I really hope they'll play What if. I don't think they will, but still it's an amazing song. Warning Sign would be cool and Shiver of course.

If they don't play Viva la Vida, I'm gonna die. But I'm pretty sure they will :P

songs that i've wanted to see live since forever!!

Warning Sign

Swallowed in the Sea

Everything's not lost

POLITIK!!!! (the ending is their best piece of music created)

Square one

Fix You

Twisted Logic

A MESSAGE!!!

Life is for living.

Viva La Vida.

Yellow

The Scientist

'X&Y' the song was played at Earl's Court on 16.12.05, I remember it well... everyone sat down and took a nap...

I've been thinking about this a lot. I saw them four times on the last tour, and the last three sets were virtually identical, with only two changes a night, so I'm really hoping for something quite different this time.

I'd most like to hear one or two (or more!) of the older tracks come back in exchange for a few from X&Y, but with so many new tracks to fit in to what is quite a short set I doubt it'll ever happen. I guess it's unlikely I'll ever hear Shiver, Trouble, Green Eyes or my most beloved Warning Sign again live *sniff*

Of AROBTTH, which are all great live, I really hope they keep Politik and GPASUYF, as those are always two highpoints.

I'm quite nervously awaiting the first setlists for the new tour...

I'm just hoping for a really good varied set-list,and hopefully a show lasting 2 hours.

I am with you! I wouldn't mind if they skipped Yellow either (though that is the song that got me into them in the first place ;)

I will be happy if they DON'T play Fix You :nice:

SO TRUE. Fix You is too melodramatic for me now. And it doesn't have any of the new craziness that this album should have ( like instrumentally). So it would come across as so boring.

Daylight is still what I hope to hear live before I die.

I've been hoping for a longer setlist for years but rather than extend it slightly when a new album comes out they've so far just dropped the older songs in favour of the new. Unfortunately this tour schedule looks as punishing as the last, so I'm not really expecting anything more, but one or two more songs would be really REALLY nice.

I'm quite hopeful that they'll use LiT as an opener - an easy warm up without Chris having to sing or leap around. That would give us one extra song at least, but I've a feeling they'll leave that 'till the equivalent of the last tour's acoustic set later on.

I too am really hoping for a good and varied set. Actually just read the Q article which gives me a lot of hope, they sound really inspired and creative again, and very conscious of trying to get away from the whole corporate side of thing that engulfed them last time. Hopefully they'll be bolder with their choices and give the audience a nice surprise each night.

They also seem far more disenchanted with X&Y than any of the rest of us are, but they may be a good thing, as it won't define the set like it did last time. Personally I'd like to see the end of Fix You as the finale, perhaps have it as the last song of the main set, as it's just too cosy and been done to death now, but again another bit of wishful thinking that probably won't come to fruition.

Does anyone know if there's a recent thread about 'what setlist would you most love to see?' This is intriguing me and I'd love to ponder a bit on that.

All the big songs (fix you , speed of sound , yellow , in my place , clocks , the scientist , everythings not lost) will no doubt stay in the setlist. Then i reckon about 4-5 songs off Viva la vida , and then rest off the other others albums! (well that's what i'm hoping for :p

)

I really want to hear Amsterdam! I think it will be hard to speculate on what they will play until we hear the full album. There is a website that posts every single set list they have ever done. I always submit a contribution whenever I see them. Here is the link!

What about a b-side,I would love to hear Bigger stronger ,1.36 or High speed.

I'm really with you guys, all of you - I'd so love to hear those songs live again. I hope I'm wrong but I really don't think they'll ever play them, even Everything's Not Lost I didn't hear the last three times I saw them :( I pray Coldplay prove me wrong, but apart from Yellow I'm not sure we can ever expect anything from Parachutes apart from Don't Panic or an occasional Shiver (which always get such a big roar when they're played...)
