Navegador
Being extremely bored, I decided to take a look at a Manchester City fan forum, wanted to know what they thought about a probable match against United in the final... We'll have to beat them [Manchester United] to win the cup. Oh well. There's always next year... :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: And the guy is a super moderator at this forum. Tnspieler1012
So late last night I came across the A-league (australia) grand final on fox soccer channel. Anyway I watched the whole thing and the end was freakishly exciting. Black Rose
I'd love a City-United match in the final. I guess you will have to put up with a City-United Semi-final, assuming City get passed Reading. :laugh3: I guess the winner of the Bolton/Stoke game will get the 3rd entry into the Europa league this season instead of 6th place... ...Could mean Liverpool miss out on Europe completely next season unless they can close the 6 point gap between themselves and Spurs (whom I believe have a game in hand). busybeeburns
Manchester United could face Man City in FA Cup semis Manchester United face a potential FA Cup semi-final against rivals Manchester City following their quarter-final win over Arsenal. City, who must first beat Reading in Sunday's quarter-final, are looking to secure their first silverware since their League Cup win in 1976. Bolton have been paired with Stoke in the last four, following wins over Birmingham and West Ham, respectively. Wembley Stadium will host the semi-finals on 16 and 17 April. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fa_cup/9423631.stm

(*assuming Man City beat Reading) Its all bollocks that.. having to go all that way, Stoke, Bolton, and City.. they should have one semi at Villa Park, and I guess the other at Elland Road. But these days have gone.
deaths_friend
YouTube - Brisbane Roar come from behind to win the A-League Grand Final in a penalty shoot out[/url] probably one of the most amazing comebacks in any final you'll ever see. easily the biggest moment in aussie football since qualifying for the world cup in 2005. brisbane won their semi final after being down 2-0 with 30 to go. they're now on a 28 match unbeaten streak! oh yeah the club goes into administration today lol

Disgraceful. I think there's real potential in the Australian game and it's important for organisations like FIFA to exploit it. Sadly they'd rather exploit countries for their wealth rather than their football. Such a shame. p.s - how's the legend that is Robbie Fowler aka God getting on in Perth? bart
Its still out of order the WC bid winners, even though after time when I choose to see the stadium of the Quatar bid I was pretty impressed with the Stadia they have planned. changing the football season for it is another thing entirley, it should not be help there.. unless they put a roof on all the stadia to keep the heat out. Russia I am sure some bribes would have been given for that .. whrere is wikileaks when we need them for something useful like this.
deaths_friend
p.s - how's the legend that is Robbie Fowler aka God getting on in Perth? he is doing quite well here. its pretty much a holiday for him here lol. to be honest i don't follow A-league that much, it can hard to watch when you're used to the quality of the european game. but i have to disagree with your comment regards the sports potential in aus. rugby league, rugby union and australian rules football has a very firm stronghold down here and football can only do so much with a population of just over 20 million and an economy insignificant on the world stage. giving australia the world cup would've just pleased the 100 000 or so passionate football lovers that live here and spend their lives going to bed at 3am or getting up at 4-30am to watch their favourite teams play. Guest howyousawtheworld
I see what you mean but World Cups can really be the catalyst for the domestic game. Australia is a natural sporting country and in the few short years the A League has been around it seems to have built a solid base and is making swift expansion. busybeeburns
Sir Alex Ferguson hits back at Dalglish and Taylor Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has hit back at attacks from Kenny Dalglish and Graham Taylor over his attitude towards referees. Ferguson faces a Football Association charge for criticising Martin Atkinson after last week's 2-1 loss to Chelsea. Liverpool boss Dalglish and ex-England boss Taylor suggested Ferguson should keep his most damning opinions private. But Ferguson said "people have short memories" and pointed to instances when the pair have criticised referees. After watching Chelsea take all three points at Stamford Bridge on 1 March, Ferguson said the match had required a "fair" official and that he had "feared the worst" as soon as he realised Atkinson would be in charge. Interviewed after the FA had charged Ferguson with improper conduct for those comments, Dalglish said he and his staff adhere to the Respect campaign that urges managers to support officials. And Dalglish added: "Sometimes you think the ones who shout loudest get the more beneficial decisions and that would be totally unfair." Taylor's criticism of Ferguson was more direct, using an article for the Daily Express newspaper to accuse Ferguson of "rank hypocrisy" and claim that "sometimes his conduct is not what you would expect of a manager of his stature". Ferguson, however, has rebuffed both men's criticism. In his riposte to Dalglish, he recalled Liverpool's reaction to United's 1-0 win in the side's FA Cup third-round meeting in January. Dalglish described referee Howard Webb's decisions to award United a penalty and dismiss Daniel Agger for a foul on Dimitar Berbatov as a "joke" in the immediate aftermath of the match. And later, former Liverpool winger Babel, since sold to German side Hoffenheim, was fined £10,000 for putting a doctored photo of Webb in a United shirt on social networking site Twitter. "People have short memories. Kenny Dalglish looked to be lecturing me in the papers about the need to respect referees, perhaps forgetting that not so long ago his players were tweeting critically all over the place about Howard Webb," Ferguson told United Review. Turning his attention to Taylor, Ferguson said the pundit's opinions as a pundit did not stand up to comparison with his conduct while England boss during a 1994 World Cup qualification defeat by Netherlands. "I was disappointed with Graham Taylor, who wrote that I had to take 'the rough with the smooth'," Ferguson added. "I think back to when he was England manager and was complaining to a linesman: 'The referee has got me the sack.'" Ferguson's side take on Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Saturday, with the Scot hoping to get back on track after three defeats in his team's last five league matches. He insisted that the decision for none of the club's coaching or playing staff to speak to the media after their latest reverse - Sunday's 3-1 defeat by Liverpool - was not evidence of a deepening crisis. "It has been a tumultuous week, but we will get over it," said Ferguson, who is also preparing to face Marseille in the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday. "Don't read too much into the fact that I withdrew my briefings for the media. "At that particular time I didn't think we would win the media battles, so I retreated." He is confident, however, of securing a postive outcome from his FA hearing into his comments on Atkinson's performance in the Red Devils' defeat by Chelsea. "I will be defending myself strongly when my FA appeal hearing comes up," he added. "In fact, I am looking forward to the challenge because, to my mind, I have not said anything out of place, however much the media urge the FA to take action." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/9423050.stm
