take it easy james! :D Don't wear the new album out too much :laugh3: I'll check your cover out, what's your youtube profile?

Best song off the entire album is easily 42. Lyrics are incredible and you add to that 3 different parts which add a new level to Coldplay's greatness.

I completely agree. It really is sublime.

It's very, very odd that you don't like Violet Hill for being too chart friendly, yet your two favourite songs are FAR more chart-friendly than VH. VLV and Lost! are by a long margin the most commercial songs on the album.

Have to admit that after a few more listens Viva La Vida especially is very commercial and catchy song! But its great in its own category! Much better than violet hill i reckon! The Chorus is something you can easily fell in love with!

But Viva la vida is one of my faves so far and as the time goes on ill find some new fave ones in the album as well. As ive already had. I bet!

I just simply cant chew the whole album at once. Maybe after a week i can give you my honest opinion!

Yeah, a proper album like this takes at least a few days to properly judge. That's what's so silly about magazines reviewing albums after one listen. I've already gone from thinking it's fantastic, to being disappointed, to loving it again in the space of 2 days. Hehe.

Im loving the final chorus of DAAHF.

42's intro is outstanding!

anyone remember these tracks that were suppose to be on the album

leftrightleftrightleft

glass of water

poppy fields

rainy days

famous old painters

prospekt's march

whatever happened to these?

I hope we find out soon!

LooooL..You can download the songs!

Guys you can download the songs by using a download helper....

The quality of the mp3's will be the same with the ones uploaded in Coldplay's myspace

I LOVE IT!!!!! ahhhh..... its the best they've done.

I'm definitely buying the album. Who cares if it leaked am still gonna buy it!!!!!

The acoustic version of Lovers In Japan was better thats my only complaint, not really a complaint tho....

Cemetries of London--- WOW!!!!

I'm in the US, so I'm stuck with the "IHeartMusic" site...but that one randomly inserts some guy saying "FREE MUSIC ON DEMAND" every once in a while, and I'm just too much of a perfectionist to put up with that. Guess I'll just have to be patient...and hope my family's very long vacation doesn't start until after it comes out here. :\

its magnificent guys:shocked2:

i think in myspace, the album sounded better than the torrent one

cd quality i guess:D

I made a separate thread in case this post is missed, but they're also going to stream it at http://www.muchmoremusic.com on Monday. Again, sorry if it's been posted...there are a lot of new threads to wade through lately!;)

No offense, but the lyrics on 42 need some help...

The start of Lovers In Japan is great.

After listening to the full album a few times through...

3 Worst:

42...the lyrics were way too repetitive for me to even appreciate this song.

Chinese Sleep Chant...I didn't quite understand the purpose of this track. Not only can you not hear Chris sing, it's got a weird vibe to it. The only decent part was Jonny making the guitar whine.

Death & All His Friends/Escapist...very weak effort to wrap up the album. All in all, not what I expected with the hopes that an album should go out with a bang. They ripped off Death Cab trying to loop the final track and starting track together to make it sound like one continuous repeating album (Transatlanticism anyone?)

3 Best:

Strawberry Swing...loved the folk blues sound to this track. Sounds very different but in a good way.

Lovers In Japan...Hard piano and drum support here, great tempo throughout the song. Crisp sound, very uplifting intro and finish

Viva La Vida...No matter how many times I hear it, it is simply a great piece of music. Awesome orchestral support (some may call it commercial but it's well done). This song's lyrics actually paint a picture in my mind, they're pretty effective. Tempo and chorus are spot on.

I feel like this album actually has more weak spots than X&Y. The 2nd portion of the split tracks actually weakened the listening experience for me. Nice effort in taking on new sounds and styles, but I felt like they should have recorded 3 quality full-length tracks rather than Reign Of Love, Chinese Sleep Chant, and The Escapist.

I'll give it a 7/10 overall.

1. Rush Of Blood

2. Parachutes

3. X&Y

4. Viva La Vida

YES !

This fourth album is a pure splendor, a true milestone, weaved with mind-blowing wonders and colorful gems. What a joy to hear the guys fully deploying their wings, uplifted by their intelligence of music. I am truly grateful to be a contemporary of such a rare event.

As our hebrew friends would say, VLV is a genuine mophet ;)

*bowing*

It's gonna spread like a fire

Cemetries of London gets better with every listen

Great

Very good album, personally Strawberry Swing, Viva la Vida and Lovers in Japan are the best songs. Worth getting the album for.

I'm not really getting 42 or Yes, and why did they funk-up Lost! The Acoustic version was brilliant.
