Midnight iTunes release?

Featured Replies

I feel bad for making this a whole thread, and really bad because it can probably be answered with one person. But does anyone know if the minute it is June 17th here in the States, will the album be downloaded for us from iTunes. I know this probably seems a bit impatient on my part, and seeing as I've listened to the album pointless. The reason is I didn't put any of the songs on my iPod, i just listened to them from iheartmusic.com, and I'm yearning to listen to them on my iPod.

So if anyone does know the answer to this question based on their own experiences.

maybe a couple minutes after. Other albums ive pre ordered came out maybe 10-20 min after.

I just got an email at 845 pm on the west coast saying my pre-order was ready! party! out the door with my burned CD!

Yep, i got my email and the CD before midnight. Gah! Worth the wait! =)

Now i am waiting for the hard copy in the mail in the morning! =) YAY

They must've JUST allowed it to be downloaded because, on the east coast at least, the viva la vida link was up in top albums, then it was removed from top albums, and there's no background theme or release date posted on the page i'm looking at

BUT we have all the tracks!! except Yes, which is album-only...ironically defeating Chris' point of wanting to give fans two songs for the price of one...:\

yea i pre-ordered mine and i cant figure out how to download it... im on the east coast as well and i also noticed it was removed from top albums. im confused. how do i download it if i pre-ordered it? it's past midnight...

Guys. I am about to walk out the door, but try this.

1- Go to the Itunes store home page

2- On the upper right it says "Quick Links" choose ''Account"

3- Log in, then a box should pop up asking if u want to download your album. Let me know if that works.

I'm in Cali and it's 9:26 here and I was able to the album so I guess it doesn't matter where, as long as it's EST after midnight we can download!

thanks that worked!

In my experiences waiting for albums on iTunes, the album page and all of the links go crazy at exactly midnight, but you can't actually download the album until around 1-2 AM... That's east coast time, though...

go to account on the side and when you sign in it should ask you if you want to download the album

Nope, not working for me either. And I did the account thing. Oh well, soon I hope.

It probably depends on all of the time zones... They can't release it nationally when it's still only 9PM in California!

I'll just listen to my burned copy while I wait for my real one :P

I just got home and downloaded the album right away (12:30 AM EST-ish)! I'm so excited to have my first official listen-through. And I'm buying a hard copy tomorrow.

I may be a poor college student, but Coldplay is one thing I will gladly spend excess money on.

Okay, does anyone else get this problem in iTunes? It only happens with me when I download Coldplay  . All of my songs download fine until they get to "processing file", then they get stuck. I have to forcibly shut down my iTunes to get them to finish downloading! Every three songs I have to go through the process... Ugh.
