If you were expecting a nice album to cut your veins off i think that youre right but if you were expecting for a progression with no looking back i think the result is marvelous :).

Like the rest of us, MusicMad is entitle to his opinion. My only response to his review is that its a shame he couldn't connect to the record that other people could. I think it's their best album. For me, the growth and experimentation makes this album really worthwhile. There's an energy in the music that hasn't been present in past Coldplay releases. I can't wait to see what the future brings.

Viva La Vida is their experimental Album, U2's Unforgettable Fire was not that great, and they followed it up with the Joshua Tree. This is only Coldplay's fourth album, and the fact that they are as big as they are with only four is miraculous.

If VLV is a disappointment for you then don't listen to it. Put on your old favorites and rock out. I'm sure Coldplay wouldn't want you listening to an album you don't like.:)

I'm sorry but I don't agree with you!!!

I am listening to new album... so far I have four fave songs which are: Viva la vida, Lost, Lovers in Japan and Violet Hill. These songs are really great!!!!

I like more this style. I think it is a great album.. Well, I need to listen to the rest of songs a little bit to get used to them but It is not a disappointment for me.

The album X&Y had good songs but not all of them were good either.. so it isn't the worst album by Coldplay.. it is simply another album by Coldplay with all its features!!!!

 

Are these remarks satisfactory for you RedGirl76, or am i still a coward as you so politely put it. An uneducated response such as that, can only lead to contention on your behalf, believe me, diplomacy is far better then vulgarity...

Well, if you think I was vulgar, I apologise - although I think you got off lightly from me when you read some of the other comments on this thread.

 

But were you referring to yourself when you mentioned diplomacy? You weren't being diplomatic - just vague. In your first post all you did was criticise the album, without explaining why.

 

You can't post on a forum like this and not expect people to call you on it.

First time I heard it I was abit taken back at the new sound, I actually didn't think much of it, but then I was very tired and I only could stay awake because I wanted to hear the album as soon as I possible could as I had been away and didn't want to wait another day (already waited an extra day as it came out a day later in Ireland where I was at the time), the next day, more awake, and oh my god, my brain nearly exploded!!!! The music lifted my soul like never before, its an incredable piece of work.

It has only just occurred to me that the majority of users that are expressing their opinions towards my thread are teenagers?? this answers the question as to why i'm not receiving any of your opinions in a civil and polite manner. Rather you have offended me by insinuating sarcasm and vindictiveness in your replies to my thread. Being a new member to this forum i would of at least! if anything expected a welcome, as a result i am now completely put off by this forum.

 

I'm surprised! the administrators allow you to stay...

It's so sad that you guys can't seem to understand that there are even people who have a different oppinion.

So VLV is Coldplay's best album ever just because you think so?

Don't get me wrong, I love the album as well but you can't insult other ppl for disliking it.

Well and of course they're allowed to open a thread. If someone would create a thread emphasizing his/her love to the album, noone would complain.
