Hello fellow oldies, had a rough day today, struggled to go to work, its hard work these days with my bones creaking as they do, I also found more grey hairs to add to my growing collection, and a few more laughter lines. But what did chear me up was that I met an elderly family friend and she showed me photos of her newest great-grand child, and then I saw his dad who is a guy I went to school with and he looks 10 years older than me, so Its not all bad!!! I am 32 by the way.

Let's just say the 80's were good to me and I am older than Ian so I must have some seniority around here. I am very protective of all the coldplayers but i have a dirty mouth.

I'm 32 on Saturday

Whenever I think I'm too old, I just remind myself I'm the same age as the band - if they can make the music, I can write about it

Well anyway, in about 20 years or so, they're going to drop the "C" and become "Oldplay"!!

It is often said that life begins at 40 and research suggests that there are concrete reasons for this being true.

For it is in our fifth decade that we are most likely to have everything we want, with 46 being the magic age at which life is as good as it gets.

According to the Lifesworth report by insurance firm More Than, the mid to late 40s is the age when adults will have accumulated the most belongings they would not want to lose.

And the average value of these possessions, including household gadgets and designer clothing, is £40,919.

The Lifesworth report rates living situations in terms of value of their possessions at various ages, with the rating changing with circumstances.

Major life events, such as moving in with someone or having children, affect the value of households.

Moving in with a partner will on average generate an increase of 65 per cent in the value of a household, while having a child will add £2,000.

Under the age of 40 it is 28-year-olds who lead the way. Without serious commitments, their average value of £33,166 is generally made up of purchases purely for themselves.

The report, however, reveals a large difference between perceived and actual values.

For example, the report shows that the average 40-year-old thinks the total value of their personal possessions is £28,917 - it's actually £40,125.

The report shows 56 per cent of Britons have no idea as to the total value of items they keep in their home.

Dowshan Humzah, of More Than, which polled 1,000 adults, said: 'It's interesting that the magic Lifesworth age falls within the fifth decade, adding weight to the old saying life begins at 40.

I will make you all proud being a VIP at the today show!!
