June 26, 200817 yr I don't get the "lesbians and girls kissing" one. I don't understand the "Rap" one either. Certain members of the band are fans of that type of music and it has blatantly influenced at least one track on the album (unless that's a joke and I'm being a git and not getting it!) And where is everyone getting this "Eno is giving himself far too much credit" nonsense from (links please). He produced the album for goodness sake!
June 26, 200817 yr Crazy Frog is definately #1 without a doubt. They STILL have that grudge (majorly). Other than that...maybe memorization of lyrics for Chris? Haha. Dave

The Lesbians and girls kissing is Katy Perry and I kissed a Girl, and the Rap is Lil Wayne's latest album Tha Carter III. You probably would have got the jokes if you were in the states.
June 26, 200817 yr I know these have probably been mentioned, but we def. need. The frontman for the sex pistols, dani filth, amy winehouse, and maybe the guy who wrote "the case against coldplay". Can we add the pussycat dolls just because everybody hates them?
June 26, 200817 yr Friend List: Paul mccartney U2 Jay z beyonce Ricky Gervais So many celebs who come to see them at concerts i am excluding his wife because she has to support them any how even if she don't like too. Jonathan Ross BBC Steve Lamacq Jo whiley Brian Eno(Despite of his comments i am giving this) Arcade fire(Chris went to see them once) Micheal Stipe The Kooks ofcourse Rollingstone magazine Pussycatdolls Nicole Scherzinger ofcourse and some other female singers who want to make duet with Chris i recently read Natasha Bedingfield wants too. Kylie Minogue Enemies List: The guy who came with his opinion to slam Chris for his rollingstone interview "why does god continue Coldplay and rollingstone to exist" He mainly. All the UK sites who came up with worst reviews on viva la vida.
June 26, 200817 yr LOL! Great thread. I think a producer's role in an album is EXTREMELY important, so I still disagree that Eno takes too much credit. But there's no question the guy has a huge ego. And whoever said "Chris's ability to momorize lyrics' is my hero for the day!:laugh3:
June 26, 200817 yr It has come to my attention that Coldplay doesn't mix well with other things, in fact they are like Oil and Water, so this will be the official thread of things that don't mix with Coldplay. Public Enemy #... 1. Crazy Frog 2. Lil Wayne 3. Lesbian's and kissing Girls 4. Brian Eno's ego 5. The New York Times 6. Anyone who wrote a magazine review for X&Y 7. Most people who have written a magazine review for Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends 8. Lollipop's 9. The Boy's who cried 'Plagarism' 10. Rap Let's see how many more enemies we can find. Chris has openly supported Jay-Z so #10 can not be included.
June 26, 200817 yr It's like Al Gore claiming to have invented the internet, most people know it's not true but there are those idiots how there who believe him. It's that little bit of recognition for something great you didn't really do, but it feels good to be recognized for it. He didn't claim to have "invented" the internet. His words were taken out of context. Vint Cerf (regarded to be the "father of the internet") himself publicly supported Gore's statements. Short quote - "I believe that the vice president deserves significant credit for his early recognition of the importance of what has become the Internet." For entire article search for "Al Gore and the Internet By Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf" Has nothing to do with the topic of this thread but you're spreading misinformation (maybe it was unintentional..please do double check your facts.
June 27, 200817 yr I think Thom is in the same bandwith as Chris, but a different frequency. To me, Coldplay does not mix well with corporate greed, which is just fine with me!!
June 27, 200817 yr The Potbellez - There new song "are you with me" is a complete plaigarization of the piano in clocks and they wrecked it!!!!! I HATE THEM HATE HATE HATE>>>>>>>CUTS WRIST.
June 27, 200817 yr I'm starting to think that high dry-cleaning bills might end up being their enemy, lol.
June 27, 200817 yr Author I edited the original list. Alright, it's taken some time, and at my own expense some criticism but the list is shaping up well, keep the idea's coming!
June 27, 200817 yr Public Enemy #... 3. Lesbian's and kissing Girls You shouldn't have said it that way, i know what u are talking about but if someone sees this and doesn't know the song, they might think u are homophobic :\ anyways, do you know that the greatest coldplay fans are gay? yes i'm not kidding, i've been "searching" about this for years and it's true
June 27, 200817 yr Thom Yorke? I wouldn't say so, the description of "lifestyle music" isn't that huge a putdown and Chris looks up to him so much that I don't think we can put him down as an enemy yet.
June 27, 200817 yr Author I never knew this thread would become this serious, but this good. I think Communist China could fall into the list because they banned the album Parachutes because they though Spies was an Anti-Communist song, any disagreements to this before I add it?
June 28, 200817 yr :veryangry2:the bbc radio 4 interview bloke!!!! exactly! this guy is a real enemy:confused:
June 28, 200817 yr if you ever make a Friends List please remember to put there this guy http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=1qHhhE1Br14 :laugh3::D
June 28, 200817 yr Oh i know i know, put Ashlee Simpson on the list! Listen to this, it's a TOTAL plagiarism of Square One :veryangry2: http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=nukYveOLY2A
