Depends, I consider it as those who support it, like, objects or situations that lead you to death.

It means something else in their vernacular, I would imagine. Maybe it's referring to someone who's lost family members, and is the sole survivor in his family?

Oblivion is also a Death's friend. Luiz Vaz de Camões refers to it as 'the law of death' (a lei da morte).

Well, I don't know about deaths friends but when I see Death with a capital it brings me back to the last harry potter book...
