Radiohead are more musically talented than Coldplay definetly. I like them because of the use of guitar. Coldplay tend to shy away, like they are frightened of the guitar. Coldplays guitar work is very constrained. But thats not that I agree on everyone on here. But being better musically dosent mean they are better, look at alll the other bands around, they have more use of guitar but you knoww theyre not better than Coldplay.

A general Radiohead song is extremely repetitive. I find a lot of their musical concepts to be very well thought out but to be executed very poorly. For example: House of Cards, more or less the same riff for 5 minutes. I'm sorry, but their music has little replay value.

Not to say that VLV is even close to Coldplay's best, but it is superior to In Rainbows.

little replay value? :stunned:

seeing as vast majority of radiohead's fanbase are people who stick around for years and years and obsess over every little detail, etc....that speaks completely against your statement.

House of Cards isn't meant to be a complex cerebral piece, it's just a relaxin' chill-out tune. 'tis all about the mood and sensation it creates. most of Radiohead's material is very meticulously crafted and "embellished" with all sorts of interesting details that sometimes become apparent only upon repeated listens. not to mention that they quite rarely use conventional song structures. the lyrics also are a food for thought, often profoundly philosophical, with layers of meaning, sometimes alluding to books, historical figures and events, etc. anyway, with all due respect, your opinion seems to be very biased, and i don't think you've given Radiohead a fair chance. :)
