  • I can't give you the reasonings on why things changed, but I can give you an update from what I observed. The Oracle was run by Debs Wild. Debs is still with the band and helps out fans, for exam

I wouldnt go that far lol

Q. Liebste oracle.

I have 3 questions for you, as I hope you will answer:

Do you think you should keep promises? (I still hope in that).

Why are Sunday the worst day in week - when it should be the best? (in English you even call it sun(shine)day).

Are you well my dear? (I really hope that).

I will wait patient for your answer. Love Mutti

The Oracle replies:

I have a theory that the only promise you should ask of people is that they make you no promises. That way they may not have to break them and therefore the risk of disappointment is lowered.

I quite like Sundays so can't agree with you there plus I have never heard it referred to Sunshine Day in English...

Thank you I am well and hope that you (and everyone else) are too!

Q. Dearest Oracle,

Who is the fifth man standing on the stage with the boys at the end of their final concert on the Viva tour? This picture was placed in the blog overflow for Saturday and in it, Guy's hand is covering his face. I was wondering if it was Phil or someone else.

Thank you so very much!

The Oracle replies:

Yes that was Phil Harvey in the pre-last night at Wembley group huddle.

Q. Oracle,

On one of the Roadie #42 blogs they mentioned a joke about how a Simon Cowell picture would appear during the song Yellow. He said that he didn't want to spoil the joke because he didn't want to ruin it for the next concerts. Well now that the Viva tour is over, What was the joke? from, Emily=)

The Oracle replies:

Ah yes, well what happened was after everyone was singing along to Yellow, Chris asked a pre-recorded Simon Cowell (from one of the X Factor shows)what he thought of the audience and he didn't give a favourable response. Chris then said they should try again to impress the judge and began to play the end of Yellow again. As it finished he said "What did you think about that Simon?" to which he replied: "That was bloody fantastic".

I guess you had to be there!

Q. Hey Oracle!

How can I vote for the UK music video awards?

The Oracle replies:

The winners are not voted for by the public Christiane but thank you for wanting to vote. The judges cast a secret ballot after considering the shortlist.

Q. Oracle!

Will Roadie #42 not make a blog on the Wembley concerts/the end of the tour? Or is he taking a well deserved rest before writing something up?

The Oracle replies:

Greetings Ghana! I will give him a nudge but it's not unusual for Roadie #42 to take a well-earned rest after such a long tour. He doesn't always write a blog for the last show either so don't hold your breath! After all, you have Anchormans's live photoblogs from the night.

Q. Dear Oracle,

During the incredible South Bank Show, the boys were seen referencing mementos from their early days. For instance a band list of things to do and their first handmade playbill. Is there a band archivist who is hopefully safeguarding interesting band memorabilia?

The Oracle replies:

Actually it's the band themselves; Chris has a suitcase full of delightful memorabilia. A few of the items also feature in the timeline on this very site

Q. Hi Oracle!

Haven't really got a question. Well, actually I do, but I just wanted to say Hello and thank you for answering our questions :) I really enjoy your posts.

Ok, so on with the question...

Don't you ever feel like it takes more time to go somewhere than it takes to return home? Why is this? This happens to me a lot, especially when it comes to going to class.

Thanks for your time!! Hope you have a wonderful day :)

Steph

The Oracle replies:

You know what Steph? Yes, I agree it does seem to take longer on the way somewhere but... for me it's usually when it's a new place I have never been before. I actually think the reason that any return seems quicker is because having already made the journey you know what to expect. In the case of going to class it's more than likely that you just don't want to make the journey in the first place and therefore time drags!

Q. Hey, I get a guesstimation on the release of album number six.

The Oracle replies:

Blimey Dalton, can we get the 5th studio album out first!?! And before anyone asks... no there's no date for that right now.

P.s If you're including Live 2003, Prospekt's March (an E.P) or the free LRLRL... they don't count...

New today...

Didn't Chris say during the Steve Lamacq interview in Jan that he doesn't keep any momentos?

I'm not doubting The Oracle by the way, am doubting him :P

Don't know, but actually he stirkes me as the type that would keep everything... not in an organised "archivist" way, more like someone who just never throws stuff away

Q. [ame=http://www.amazon.ca/Roadie-My-Life-Road-Coldplay/dp/1906032653/]True[/ame] or not ?

The Oracle replies:

True! Matt's book is due for publication in 2010. However the date is still yet to be confirmed and subject to change.

Q. Wow, you got me confused there, Oracle.

Does Prospekt's March not count as an album? Why?

And when do you know when it's an album or an EP (extended play).

It doesn't say it's an EP in the discography.

The Oracle replies:

We certainly mentioned that it was an EP many times in our news announcement...

EPs generally have less tracks and a shorter running time than an album but more than a single.

Our Recordings section doesn't actually differentiate between any of the singles, EPs or albums.
