November 16, 201213 yr November 15, 2012 - submitted by Eliza, New Zealand Q. Hi Oracle! The concert on Saturday in Auckland was absolutely incredible! it was by far the best concert and best night of my life!! We camped out from 7am to get front row which we did! There was amazing video footage throughout the night, I am wondering how we could get this? There were alot of times that we came up on the screens and I would like to see it again!! Many thanks and cant wait for them to come back down under!! The Oracle replies: You can't actually get a copy because it wasn't recorded footage. It's live transmissions if you'll pardon the pun. That live video feed is for the show only and not available beyond that. When I watched Live 2012 I did think how amazing it must be for the fans to be immortalised on film forever but that's obviously not going to be possible for every single show. It's still pretty cool to be on the screens at a gig I reckon. I screencapped my avi from the DVD trailer, and when I posted it to the FB group, one of the girls in it recognized herself and her friend! I felt the same as Debs about how amazing it must be to see yourself and know you'll be on a DVD seen by every Coldplay fan. Very cool!:D
November 16, 201213 yr November 16, 2012 - submitted by The Oracle, United Kingdom Q. WHO'D LIKE TO JOIN TEAM ORACLE? When I answer questions of a personal nature, Coldplay.com readers often get in touch with their own thoughts. So, we now have a weekly feature, Team Oracle, whereby each Friday (with the question asker's permission) we open up a question to all of you to answer too. Then, the following Friday, I'll post a selection of the best answers, alongside my own reply. ANYONE can join in so, if you'd like to, please email your response to the following question, in no more than 250 words, to before midnight Thursday 22nd November. I have been together with my boyfriend for 2 and a half years now, and I'm in a strange situation. I no longer know what feelings I have for him. This has never happened to me before but, I always try to find times to stay away from him, and when I don't see him for a few days, I don't miss him. If I do miss him I feel like it might be out of boredom. Now, my boyfriend has terrible anxiety issues and panic attacks, which make him unable to leave the house alone, however he is finally (after 1 year) starting to get better. I am scared that my leaving him will just worsen his situation and he will once more have a nervous break down. I no longer know what the right thing to do is; wait for him to get better or just leave him and not worry about the consequences of my actions? Francy, Italy. Look forward to seeing your replies. November 16, 201213 yr November 16, 2012 - submitted by Aaron, United States of America Q. Q. TEAM ORACLE QUESTION #96 I was wondering what is your favorite word in relation to Coldplay? Rather, what word or words come to mind when you hear the word "Coldplay"? Could I kindly ask you to write a poem about Coldplay using these words? Or if you chose a single word, how about using it as a title for the poem? I want to see your writing skills. The Oracle replies: I really can't wait to read everyone else's including a special guest contributor. So here we go... Butterflies House lights go down, Xylobands replace the dark Blinking and flashing in time as fireworks spark The show's off and running much like fuzzy man on the screens Graffiti illuminates; yellows, pinks and greens Confetti rains down, as does the rain It doesn't dampen spirits, but "oh no, not again" Bouncing balloons - when will they pop? Airborne guitar - where will that drop? Main stage followed by X and then C Had too much booze, time for a pee Two hours fly by, it's almost over Last firework bursts like a supernova Every teardrop means time for goodbye Our tears are laughter, emotions are high Lets say au revoir, until the next time Oh & forgive me my friends for this crappy little rhyme! Over to you! Freefalling upward, The refreshing air, The reality in ears, A smile in time, Always, The hope in change, Without the trouble, Without the sinking, Is my world with thanks, Freefalling upward. by Aaron (the question asker). Coldplay is Life, Armonia and Sinfonia; A symphony of euphoria; A harmony of insomnia; A life of doubt; Where there is not a word that decrypts joy. by Caoi. My Safe My safe place to be My darkness made seen Protected by distance Too sacred to share Knowing someone cares Voices freeing who I am They got in my walls when nobody can Part of me that was lost Words are too little My song is not enough Found and given hope I can be enough Wounds allowed to hurt Saving others from the pain Reckless order Heeded abandon To me. For me. The same. by Carrie, Houston, TX. In the dark, with no light You hear the speed of sound Everything ignites And your feet don't touch the ground The stars shine And it feels like paradise You felt lost But they fixed you Took you back the start Where there is no hardest part. by Zainab. "Everytime she looks into my Green Eyes, I know exactly where our hearts lie, When I look into her eyes, I get Swallowed in the Sea, I see a Warning Sign of the happiness that lies before me. I dream of the days where we'll be Lovers in Japan, and the prolonged period of time we spend in Amsterdam. The Hardest Part is seeing what time will bring, But I know we'll meet Death and all his Friends, hand in hand, Sitting on our old Strawberry Swing." by Not a poet, Bradley H. Long Live Life In seas of glowing Xylobands, my head is held inside your hands. I feel the spell, a rebel yell, Living inside my head as well. My heart was all encased in stone, but lights will soon ignite my bones and flowing, burning through my veins, dispel the shadows and the rains. You give me heart and find my soul, the streets here are all paved with gold. Now the stars in heaven align, Without you it's a waste of time. by Eric. Shiver rather chilly than cold chilling out, creeping in soft words, and yet so bold divine feeling, mortal sin parachute to the soul gentle pillow under my head where I can scream or rest or both and hear the words that rest unsaid for these songs I know so well are just like paradise, I’d say I’d say they’re every single cell that shivers when I hear them play. by Diana, Brazil. MAGIC the words written and every note, gave me bright sparks of hope thru pain and shame that made me ill, I didn't think id still be here but it's almost magic, almost magic! something has ignited its almost magic, I'm ecstatic! I could just be still 'cause right now, all I need is here sound of magic thru my ears I hear this and I'm just happy, it speaks my voice within it tells you: jump and laugh and sing! "TITLE" (Oracle, please put your idea of a good title). *Sorry - that's your job ;-) Oracle. Look at the stars, running in circles; down the corner of my street. From the roof tops I remember every river that I tried to cross. Look how they shine, those christmas lights, i could feel it all around. That's what made me see between the two trapezes Look at the stars, don't you shiver; it's such a perfect day. come here, my star is fading, I feel my time has come. Look how they shine, up in the trees upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand. Tears stream down your face lying underneath those stormy skies. Through chaos as it swirls, the lights go out and i can't be saved. by Justin. , v’s . (comma v’s full stop) I decided to write a poem With words that came to hand About Coldplay and its albums My all-time favourite band. I found it rather difficult My friends didn’t give two hoots I need some help, I’m trying to find A rhyming word for Parachutes It was getting rather irritating It was starting to do in my head I couldn’t work out the significance of A rush of Blood to the head The next one would be easier I didn’t really have to try A verse it would be easy to find To fit the next one X&Y The band were getting older They were setting their own trends But what the hell was all this about Viva la Vida and Death to their friends???? The poem it isn’t finished One more album there is to go It’ll never get done now they’re taking the p*ss F*****g Mylo Xloto??? Don’t try to be smart with then next one It’s starting to get on my t*ts Please keep it simple don’t f**k about Just call it your 1st Greatest Hits. I will see you next Tuesday in Melbourne My names Jim and I’ll be down the front I’m genuinely going next Tuesday Not just an acronym to use the word c**t God bless, by Jim from Glasgow visiting Melbourne. "Paradise" Like a hearing a new song for the first time or when a concert is about to start, whenever I listen to Coldplay, it feels like Paradise in my heart. The pure beauty of the lyrics makes me feel good, as easily and wonderfully as only a Coldplay song could. “Christmas Lights” fits well for winter, autumn, spring and summer, another wonderful fact is that Coldplay has the coolest drummer. Para, Para, Paradise is a place of wonder, a place calm and serene, not surrounded by thunder. Together the Coldplayers will glow in the dark, a sight as pretty as flowers blooming in the park. What I wish now, I wish for all of you: A happy and great future where you keep doing what you do. With love and gratitude, by Medina from Sweden. The first line on the first page It's you that I hold on to Are you lost or incomplete Deciphering the codes in you Let's take a breath jump over the side No reason or rhyme The futures for discovering Can anybody fly this thing Give me time and give me space Give me real don't give me fake Where do we go to draw the line For you I'd bleed myself dry Crossed lines I shouldn't have crossed I never meant to do you harm They spun a web for me Nobody said it would be easy Bones sinking like stones Oh my star is fading That's what I came here to say I'll be around I'll be loving you always So I wanna live in a wooden house Buy this place and burn it down I'll always look out for you To the end of the last page. by Jeff. November 19, 201213 yr November 19, 2012 - submitted by Sanaa, Australia Q. Yesterday's Sydney concert was absolutely amazing! But I was just wonderding, why did Chris decide to sing Warning Sign when in one of his interviews he said never wanted anything to do with that song? I'm not complaining it was so great hearing it! The Oracle replies: Warning Sign has been in the set (on and off) for months during the MX Tour. Like you, I was really pleased to hear it again. I remember being so shocked and happy to hear it again in Nice. I know Chris wasn't keen on the song being included on AROBTTH but as for not playing it live... the band do go through phases of liking vs. disliking songs and sometimes they rediscover songs and find a new love for it. I'm sure we've all changed our opinions on things during our lives especially with the passing of time. It just goes to show that even if it's reported in print or captured on video/audio it can always change.
November 19, 201213 yr November 19, 2012 - submitted by Fiona, United Kingdom Q. I thought Coldplay do their recording at the Beehive and Bakery back home? The Oracle replies: They do - when they are back home. When they aren't and the mood takes them, they use local studios. They've done this many times before in places such as Chicago, New York, Barbados...
November 19, 201213 yr November 19, 2012 - submitted by Terry, United Kingdom Q. Hi Oracle, how many guitars have been wrecked by the throw at the end of GPASUYF? Looks like a damaging throw! The Oracle replies: Looks can be deceiving. Sometimes the guitar needs serious first aid and Hoppy will spend a long time repairing it but guitars are pretty durable so sometimes there's little to no damage.

November 20, 201213 yr November 20, 2012 - submitted by Nick, United States of America Q. Dear Oracle, Do you make an appearance in the new concert film? Someone claimed it was you at 1:47 during HLH, although I doubt the Oracle would ever admit to a public appearance. Cheers, Nick The Oracle replies: Although I was there at the Paris show (and Madrid) I don't pop up. I normally stand quite far back or wander round to see it from all angles. I'm not in any backstage footage either...
November 20, 201213 yr November 20, 2012 - submitted by Fabio, Italy Q. Do the guys have at least one personal copy of all of their own CDs, EPs, singles, etc.? Are they all in good conditions? For example, do they all have their copy of the Safety EP at home? And, in case, what is what they don't have? :) Thanks, Fabio The Oracle replies: I'm pretty sure they won't all have Safety EP but I know there are a couple of cassettes knocking around.. The thing is, when you're in a band and making demos, you're not really thinking about keeping a copy back for posterity. All their released material CDs are kept at their studio so no, they don't keep copies at home. I have a very rare 7" at home and the creator of that vinyl doesn't have his own copy. I did consider giving him mine but then changed my mind...
November 20, 201213 yr November 20, 2012 - submitted by AnnHoney, Colombia Q. Hi Guys! I'm a Graphic Designer and I'm pretty impressed with your graphics ideas. Last week I saw your movie on theaters and I can't remember the name of your designer on stage. The person who painted all your instruments and has the graffiti idea... who was... I think was a girl named Milly or something like that. The Oracle replies: The band actually came up with the graffiti idea initially and drafted in Paris. He (& his girlfriend Milk) painted the set, drapes and instruments etc. but Misty Buckley is the set designer.
November 21, 201213 yr November 21, 2012 - submitted by Tyler, United States of America Q. Hello Almighty One, I just purchased the Live 2012 CD/DVD and it is fantastic. While looking through the included art booklet, I noticed something. On the last page, underneath the song symbols, it reads 'YMCVJMAJRNKGAM'. What do these letters stand for? I hope that you and the band have a great Thanksgiving! The Oracle replies: The band have published similar before and I know many fans worked it out. Those letters are the initials of the band's nearest & dearest. From left to right they are the significant other & children of Phil, Jonny, Will, Guy & Chris.
November 21, 201213 yr November 21, 2012 - submitted by Katelyn, United States of America Q. Is there any personal meaning behind the writing of Paradise to the band? The Oracle replies: There was a newspaper that reported the song was inspired by the 'everyday childhood disappointments' experienced by Chris' daughter. He himself said: "Paradise is about a girl really, the female half of the album, just about being a bit lost in the world and escaping through fantasy." Don't forget, the band also said the album is more of a concept album than anything.

November 22, 201213 yr November 22, 2012 - submitted by Miguel, Mexico Q. Oracle, Reading some of your answers, I think that Yellow is the most played song in the history of Coldplay's concerts. Is there an album song that has never been sung live? If not, which is the least perfomed song? The Oracle replies: I think you may be right, Miguel. Yellow must be the most performed Coldplay song over the past decade or so. Twisted Logic from X&Y wasn't played live (not even on the Twisted Logic tour). Aside from that, I'd say if we're going off songs that have been performed - but not often - Moving To Mars is probably the least performed.
November 22, 201213 yr November 22, 2012 - submitted by Francisco, Brazil Q. I was wondering why the song Politik was named in German? Is there a special reason? Why it's not Politic? Cheers, Francisco The Oracle replies: A while back, Chris gave an interview about it: "Phil said said to me ‘Oh, you should have a song called Politic.' And I said ‘Oh, all right'. It's as simple as that. Because if he says something you do it, unless it's something naff, but we liked it because it sounds Eastern... Russian. But it is meant to be with a K. We like it as a song title."
