Q. Oracle, before the concert started in Buenos Aires, someone took a picture of me, someone from Coldplay's crew. I was wearing an emerald green shirt, my hair is straight brown and long, my smile is the best... and maybe I was also wearing a hat. I thought I was going to find it here but it didn't happen...

Also, I went to the hotel to see Coldplay. I went inside to have some drinks, a gave a letter to a guy called James. I'm sure that Coldplay never received my letter.

Maybe I was in the same room as you and didn't know that. At "The Library Lounge".

Just to tell you!!

Bye

If you ever find that picture and wanna send it to me :)-

Now, I remember, maybe I saw you. You were sitting in a table with another man at "The Library Lounge" and looked deeply in my eyes.I passed by your side cause I wanted to talk to the body-guard of Coldplay.

Whatever it was, it was really fun.

The Oracle replies:

Hey Carol, James remembers you and tells me that yes, he gave the letter to the band. I was indeed in the Library Lounge and in fact was stood next to Geoff - band's security - so you probably did see me without knowing.

I have some photos of fans outside the hotel and you're probably in one of those but they weren't the best quality so I didn't include them in my album, sorry!

  • I can't give you the reasonings on why things changed, but I can give you an update from what I observed. The Oracle was run by Debs Wild. Debs is still with the band and helps out fans, for exam

Q. I went to a concert at the Superpages Center in Dallas some time ago, and Chris sang Billie Jean (this not long after MJ's death) when the guys moved to a smaller mini sort of stage just a few feet from me on the lawn. Did he sing it at every show, or was it spur-of-the-moment?

Also... He played Green Eyes while on the smaller stage. That concert was the first date my girlfriend of a full year now and I went on, and I'm sure I wouldn't be half so lucky if it hadn't been played, so give my thanks to everyone.

The Oracle replies:

Billie Jean was introduced to the C-Stage as you say, shortly after Michael Jackson's death. It remained for almost every show and proved to be a popular addition. Green Eyes didn't last quite so long..

On the recent tour Billie Jean was played on the first night in Argentina; it was replaced with Shiver for the remaining dates.

Q. Dear Senor Oracle, I was enjoying the wonderful Latin America pics when I noticed that one of the captions refers to the people of Guadalajara as "cabrones", I was just wondering if you realize this is indeed a Mexican curse word and insult?

The Oracle replies:

Yup I knew that but I also know that it's a term of endearment and that's the context I used it in. It's the same in English; we have some swear words that if said aggressively are very bad but are also used affectionately with friends. Isn't language strange sometimes?? Hope no offence was taken by the way...

Six in one day, is this a record, makes up for none yesterday :)

Q. Dear Oracle, I was wondering, Does Guy pronounce his name like "look at that guy" or like gee? just wondering! Thanks

The Oracle replies:

Wonder no more Rosie because his name is pronounced Guy (as in look at that guy over there) but I confess to calling him Guy (Gee)_ when on tour. I have no idea why but it felt right to call him an intercontinental name during the tour.

I actually pronounced Guy's name like "gee" for at least two weeks until I realized my mistake after watching an interview. :P I was so used to the "gee" pronunciation, so it was weird to pronounce it the other way.

THAT CHRISTINA WAS ME. :freak:

THANKS ORACLE!

Well done!! Have a safe trip :)

I'm so upset :bomb:

I've never thought of pronouncing Guy as "Gee". Probably because I'm not a native english speaker. :laugh3:

Me neither, I mean, isn't Guy prononuced Gee a french name, like Guy de Maupassant?

I don't even like it prononuced it as Gee

I think the way the Oracle answered it is still a little confusing. Honestly, when I see the word "gee", I think of pronouncing it like "gee that's weird". What she is really referring to is pronouncing it like "geek" without the "k"... with the "hard g" sound.

But, I suppose it doesn't matter... because it's not pronounced either way.

Hey, look at that Guy over there that plays bass... :D

Yep, it's a French name. I kept saying it like "gee" because I knew this French person named Guy before I found out about Coldplay.

Yeah, "Gee" with a hard g. I was thinking the same. But I've never heard that 'Guy' is pronounced Gee. I don't know, it's so weird... Guy is Guy.

And you know, he's the ONLY reason I refer to the four of them collectively as "the boys"; otherwise I would refer to them as "the guys".

Side note: This is my 1000th post! Weeeeee hooooooooooo!!! :awesome:

Gee=french pronounciation! As a french, I've always pronounce 'Guy' the british way...Cause Guy pronounced 'Gee' (like in Guy de Maupassant) just feel so oooold and uncool!! In France, 98 % of people called Guy are about 70 years old  Doesn't fit our Guy at all! Plus, he's english so I don't see why his name must be pronounce the french way :inquisitive:

My dad's name is Guy but you pronounce it "Gee" cause he's French

Q. Dear Oracle, when Coldplay came to Guadalajara I was the first in line waiting for the gate to be opened in order to be the closest to the stage. I waited in line since 4pm from the previous day of the concert just so I could see Chris really really close, other people came to join me during the night and we camped outside the stadium. Of course it was totally worth it and was so much fun! My question is did the band know there were people already waiting outside the stadium since the night before? Haha luv u, thanks a lot!

The Oracle replies:

Wow! I was telling everyone how people had been at most venues from 5 a.m but I had no idea that die-hard fans like yourself were there overnight! That's pretty incredible. Thumbs up to you guys for that.

Q. Have any of the band had the pleasure of meeting the legend that is Paul McCartney?

The Oracle replies:

Yeah apart from the fact that Coldplay were onstage shortly after Paul at Live 8, they have met a few times.

Q. El Caro! I hope you are well! I was looking though some of the older news posts, and I came across the post from way back in April 1 2009, which talks about the band recording in zero gravity (too cool)! I just remembered that post when I saw it today. My question is, have they done it yet?

The Oracle replies:

Wow as we almost swing past 12 months since that news post it seems weird to report so long after that the band were never intending to record in zero gravity as the date might suggest; it was an April Fool's prank!

The Oracle answered my one!!!!!!!!!! :D

Finally! The one about Paul McCartney! :D

My dad's name is Guy but you pronounce it "Gee" cause he's French

In Germany, "gay" is pronounced as Guy!:P
