Movie Scenes that shocked you

Featured Replies

name the movie scene, which struck you or shocked you so much that you can't get it out of your head.

Mine is: In Master And Commander where Mr. Hollom thinks he is cursed, and believes the Spanish Ship will appear everytime he is on the look out, one night as he is on watch he picks up a cannon ball, Thanks a younger officer for what he has done and jumps off the side of the ship.

Just the way the scene was acted out and filmed made it so vivid.

^that was a scene that is hard to forget...

For me Id say during Dark Knight (big shocker there:dozey:) when the Joker has Batman pinned down and (SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT!!!) expects the two ships to blow each other up, he slicks his fingers just as he thinks it's gonna happen. The whole movie was so unpredictable you were really expecting it to happen but it just stays silent and neither ship explodes the other.

People who have seen Dark Knight know what Im talking about.

A shocking movie in general is "Elephant". I rented it not knowing anything about it and I was defintely blown away. Very weird too. I just sat there after seeing it.

I won't tell everything so not to spoil it but...

From IMDB:

"Elephant" is a 2003 crime/drama film by Gus Van Sant. The film is centered around a group of your average teenage high school students. There's the jock, the geek, the princesses, and the list goes on. The film follows every character and shows their average day routine. However two of the students plan to do something that the student body won't forget.

I know! And at the very end, when she FINALLY got a new guy, and everything was happy again, they just had to say "and her mother still did NOT approve." and ruin it all over again.

The ending of The Mist.

OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD.

Has anyone else seen it? I'm curious to hear other people's reactions to the ending, I saw it about 5-ish months ago.

American History X - the curb scene *cringes*

Really, I remember watching that thinking this is going to be one hell of a scary movie, but then as I watched it it wasnt at all scary or shocking. And I dont even watch horror movies, thats one of few I have watched. As the film came to a close I realised what a shite film i was.

The first moment Heath Ledger removes his mask in "Dark Knight" and you finally see up-close how crazy he got the character to look.

Sheer genius.

still haven't seen the Dark Knight, don't have too much time on my hands at the moment.

The joker in a body bag in the new dark knight movie

(near the beginning, NOT a spoiler)

I mean, I know how ironic that is!

but talk about bad taste :P

It was a scene in the movie 'sleepers', it was actually more to do with what you were led to believe happened after that particular scene, but you only had to put 2 and 2 together to work it out. It shocked me in a way that it just hurt to think this thing goes on all the time.

Not really shocking but funny:

In Batman Begins when he pulls the guy up with the rope and the guy is hanging upside down. Batman asks him questions and the guy's like "I dont know anything. I swear to God!"

And Batman's like "SWEAR TO ME!!"

Then drops him back down but pulls the rope an inch before he hit the ground.

Haha..."SWEAR TO ME!!"
