oxford street looked pretty great when i was there, but i wasn't in a shopping mood, and i really cannot spend money on clothes when in england. it's ridiculous with the exchange rate.

i know own three pairs of skinny jeans in like a week, and three cardigans. what's happening to me? annie, you'd be proud.

i think i was affected by everyone caring a bit more about what they look like over in europe. in america, i regularly go out in my PJs, whereas the ONE time i did that to get butter at the grocery store in holland, i got stared at. i think all the concern with clothes from there has seeped into my subconscious and now i'm upscaling my usual jeans and t-shirts to darker washes and slimmer cuts and cardigans and camisoles :P

:D *is proud*

and you're right, england is insanely expensive. as my mom says: the prices (the numbers) everywhere are the same, but in the US it's in dollars, in the UK its in pounds and in Europe its in Euro!

Those are cute! :D

This is off-topic...but I need some help. I'm trying to convince my parents to let me go to the Philly show on November 1st...but I don't know how to approach them with this. They were kind enough to let me go to the first one....and I don't want to be pushing it by asking them to the second one. But I reeeeeeeally need to see them again. Also, now that I work I'll be paying for the tickets. So I'm willing to pay for it.

well, i dont think there should be a problem if you're willing to pay for the ticket.

I always pay for my tickets and that way they just simply can't stop me going :P

I also usually buy the ticket before hand so that i have it already when i let them know hahah

Yeah, I hope that the fact that I'll pay for it wins them over...

^^ that'll most likely work annie.

and if your parents were nice enough to let you go to the first one, i don't see why they wouldn't let you go to the second.

just calmly ask them and make sure you keep saying you'll pay for it.

good luck!! hope you can come! :D

Thanks guys, I really need to go to this. :disappointed:

*feels the money slipping away...*

I know!!! Oh man....gahhh I really need to soften up my parents.

hah, they all need softening. just stress to them how much coldplay means to you... that worked for me!

-crosses fingers for annie- :D

I know!!! Oh man....gahhh I really need to soften up my parents.

Have you tried fabric conditioner??

your parents should be fine with you going to the second show, especially if you say you're gonna pay for it. The first one went well and nothing wrong happened to you.. so there shouldnt be any problems !

and spending money to see them live is so worth it.. well I hope as I ruined myself already !

on topic : I'm going to do some SHOPPING tomorrow ! Yay

Good point Chavi! :D I'm going to ask them tomorrow......:shy: Eeeek!

Anyways..

So in spirit of the new Coldplay shows....I'm trying to think of a cute way to wear a Coldplay shirt besides with jeans.

The shirt I have:

^^With black tights as well

OR

(probably more sensible for a concert)

Hmmmm Weeeeell. Speaking from MY point of view. (I'm mostly thinking aloud )

You live in Philly, the concert is in Philly -> GO.

BUT it's 1st November, and I don't know what does your family feel about this holiday, but I know that my parents wouldn't be too happy about the idea of me going on a concert. And me neither.

But then again you're going to pay for the ticket on your own so they can't really force you not to go. They can advise you what to do with your own money but in the end it's you who decides what do to with it.

So .... I'd say go. :)

As for approaching them ... just tell them the stuff early enough and don't lose hope nor determination  And speak calmly and loudly. This does wonders.

Ooooh yay Nina can't wait to see them!
:nice: You know, I was saying to myself "Okay, what did Annie and Anna say the other day about buying? Hmmmmmmmmmm ........" :D

*buys this*

*buys that*

*has a headache*

^ That was the scenario. :D

Thanks for the advice, Nina! :nice:

Hahaha awww I'm sure whatever you bought will be great! :D
