Small note up on Veja.com, the website of a Brazilian magazine:

Ā

Promoters negotiate Coldplay concerts in Brazil

Ā

By Lauro Jardim

Ā

Coldplay can come back to Brazil in the second semestre - the possible cities to held the event are Rio de Janeiro and SĆ£o Paulo. At the moment, two Brazilian companies are negotiating with the British band's agents. One of them is Brasil 1/Plan Music (responsible for the Elton John concert here) and the other, Time For Fun (responsible for the concerts Madonna played in the country). The process, however, has only just began.

Ā

If the concerts really do happen, they are to take place between October and December. It will be the second* Coldplay tour in the country: in February 2007, they played three concerts in SĆ£o Paulo.

Ā

But what about the high dollar value? Isn't t a barrier when it comes to expensive international acts? It intereferes negatively, of course. But the situation is different from the times when Brazilian currency was equally devaluated. Now the crisis is global, which helps the negotiations - the agents of these artists are more suscetible to accepting an agreement.

Ā

*It'd actually be the third: in 2003, Coldplay performed here as well (they played in SĆ£o Paulo and Rio de Janeiro).

why??!!!

why until the end of next year??!!! :bigcry:

Ā

it's not fare that there's already rummors of a THIRD us tour leg, and they haven't set foot in latinamerica!!!! :bigcry:

Ā

Totally agree with you, Pris!

Ā

I'm afraid they might end not coming to Latin America :bigcry: I remember during Twisted Logic Tour they'd said they would come in September, but announced the end of the tour in July. Thank God they changed their minds and made a special tour in february, but I don't think this is ever happening again :(

I'm getting ansious....... if they announce yet another us tour leg, i'll risk it and try to go to one of the shows there.........

Ā

but i want my latinamerican tour, damn it!!!!!!!!! :bigcry:

I really hope they will come touring soon in South America, they said many times they really love to play shows there because of the wonderful fans they have...don't give up hope

I want it too :bigcry:

Ā

anyway, there's a local newspaper which keeps saying that they will come here next november....

Ā

I don't want to wait that much, but it's better than nothing :P

Ā

we had to wait so much for the latin american tour.. and it was perfect :bomb:

They don't have dates scheduled from late March to late August, wouldn't it be wonderful if they could visit us in this 4-5 months gap? :D
