I'm really liking the music they've used. LIT, DAAHF's and now they just played knights of cydonia.

I think that was Clocks just now in an Olympics Visa commercial.

of course, i've never heard a coldplay song in the olympics :dozey:. nor have i ever heard a song i recognize, i don't think

but i did just hear some song in NBC's coverage that was remarkably coldplayish, and i actually stopped for half a second to wrack my brain to see if it was a coldplay song

Hey! That happened to me too.

I dunno. It kind of sounded like Clocks stripped down.

But it wasn't.

I know I heard Clocks during some portion of the olympics. Im pretty sure they used it during some women's competition thing (maybe gymnastics, but not so sure). i was also way excited when they were playing the dandy warhols. NBC is using lots of great music this year. and DC was going insane when Phelps won his first gold. A bunch of people were from Maryland too (his hometown) so everyone was really excited. And seeing Ian Thorpe as Phelps became the winningest olympic athlete in history --- priceless!

there Is an iPhone commercial that starts off much like viva... Gets me every time

oh i just heard a really lame girly cover of don't panic before a cut to an ad break. blech! why not just use the original? lol

i sware i heard a coldplay song when the diving was coming on...but i couldnt catch what song it was

Muse in the olympics is almost the bigger story. I haven't been watching nonstop and in two days I've heard knights of cydonia, starlight and time is running out.

I've just heard 'life in technicolor' played over the news of the day on the beeb.

I heard Lost!

Haha! I was watching gymnastics the other day and I thought I heard Life in Technicolor playing in the background... I guess it really was Life in Technicolor then!

They are not banned. They are popular in China. No wonder we can hear a lot of Coldplay songs in the Beijing Olympics.

but are the chinese playing coldplay music or the british/american channels?

They were playing Viva la Vida as the athletes left the stadium after the closing ceremony.

they played VLV several times during these Olympics: Hockey, figure skating....during intermissions

When I heard it, it made me even more excited, and trust me, I was pretty excited during the game already. Always great to hear Coldplay unexpectedly.
