I've been wanting to make this thread for a long time, but she has a LOT of fans on here, and I don't want to offend them, which is why I put this in the Lounge, out of the way.

 

First off, I really am sorry if I offend people on here who love her, but it's a public forum, and opposing views should be welcome.

 

Her latest fur-wearing campaign in light of all her righteous talk makes me sick...and it's just one more piece of her ongoing Hollywood, hypocritical way of life. I don't know what the fuck Chris is doing with her, when he's trying to be a genuine person. I know the fame has gone to his head a little too, but he's not nearly this transparent.

 

I still want to think of Chris & Gwyn as being a little bit better than the 'power-couples', and it's getting harder and harder with every new article I read.

 

There. I said it. She annoys me. I know I'm in the minority, but I had to get it off my chest. Thanks for indulging me, and if you want to use this thread for healthy debate, feel free. No flaming...it's just an opinion!

Yeah I don't get what's with the fur thing. I don't think Chris would be too pleased. The methods of killing an animal for fur aren't exactly ethical most of the time, common knowledge

I will be blunt and say that Coldplay changed the day he got with Gwyneth. :cry: and not for the better either. I sometimes wonder in which way Coldplay would have gone if he had married somebody unknown... :shifty:

She thinks she is some amazing fashionista recently, and is probably getting carried away with it these days. She's looked amazing on some ocassions, then worn some things that are bit overboard. I think Chris has been taken in by the lure of Hollywood too, and changed GREATLY.

He namedrops and frankly, sometimes I think he's lost his way a bit.

 

Not a dig at his family life or whatever, I'm happy that he's happy....... but......yeah :\

 

This fur business is disgusting.... she should not be proud, considering the image she's projected of herself in the past.

i read that article. and it really really pisses me off.

I would like to reply to Duckette's point of view : is it really Gwyneth who changed Chris ?

 

It seems to me, life changes your ways with time, and with Chris being happy in love, he was bound to express himself differently. More self assured, no ?

 

Yet, he is like a kid in a toy shop on Hollywood planet mars and I think he is having fun.

 

Somebody "unknown" might have brought the same changes, or worse..

 

At least they have peace at home, well unless this fur thing brings up a crisis...

 

And X&Y is a pretty good record, when VLVODAAHF is very liberated.

I think Coldplay were always destined to be big because I think Chris has always been striving for that, it has always been his goal. Remember that quote from Matt in his memoirs where Chris had said in the early days "You know, I’m not trying to be big-headed, but you really ought to make the most of this, because next year we’ll be playing Wembley." Says it all really.

 

I think the marriage to Gwyneth may have helped that to happen faster, but I do think it was always was going to happen one way or another.

 

I think Chris did lose his way a bit during X&Y but has pulled it back for VLVODAAHF. She's sort of kept out of the way this time, which is good. Chris seems more focused on the band.

 

I do really disagree with this whole fur thing though, I've always quite liked her and tried to ignore some of the aspects of her personality that didn't seem favourable, but after this...I dunno.

we'll just have to wait untill chris finally realises he's in love with jonny and we'll be back at square one.... hehehehe

the whole fur thing with gwyneth REALLY pisses me off. i only found out about it like an hour ago, but i'm pretty angry about it. even if she wasn't a vegetarian etc etc, i'd still be very disappointed that she wore fur, but the hipocracy makes it ten times worse.

 

in terms of if/how she's affected chris/coldplay...i wonder that myself all the time. like mich said, i think she might have just accelerated the fame and biggness a bit, like by a few years. chris certainly wouldn't be hounded by paps and press if he hadn't married her, at least not yet, and i think that sort of notoriety and stalking changes you a bit. i don't really think he got that bigheaded himself: i more believe that his sudden rocket to celebrity because of his marriage (which isn't something that's really gwyneth's fault; i think she'd get rid of it all if she could, too) changed him in small ways that ended up tweaking the band and the music.

 

in terms of gwyneth herself, though (minus this whole fur thing)...i do really like her as a person. i think she gets a bad rap sometimes, but i think she really does seem like a good, kind, smart person that's pretty down to earth (not 100%, but not as bad as some people think). i also think she's a fabulous actress (even though i think she's best as depressed bitches rather than leading ladies :P), and she seems like a great mother. despite what people say about her, and her occasional gaffes that are usually written off as being taken out of context, and this DISGUSTING fur thing, i do really love her, personally :D

This time i want to express my hatred for her here so freely than ever i have.

 

See she might be Chris's wife ,but in this world we see a lot of people being married and living their lifes.That's completely an other thing what they're doing in their family.

 

But She's an artist and also with many other people in this world even they're doing something good or bad they're discussed not related to whether they're married to a person or not.

 

Because They are married to a person is a different subject.

 

I am talking about the people as artists and public life not personal lifes.

 

Infact a person even an terrorist if he's married i will respect him.

 

But what i want to say that i really hate Gwyneth is i read in many stories before Chris even loved her back in 2002 or so even before that she used to have even a habit of smoking and i saw some of her really naked pictures with brad pitt where they're having a kind of sex.

 

which pissed me off so badly not because she had sex with him but because of that paparazzi media attention she had for that.

 

and while doing some movies she's comfortable doing sex scenes with ben affleck that even the directors of those movies are felt so awkward in taking that scenes.

For some odd reason I kinda thought when I heard it perhaps it was Gwen's pregnancy that made Chris think "Hang on a minute, now what"; because from the date of their marraige and Apple's birth, he would have known about it before they got married. I prompty slapped myself in the back of the head and dismissed that.

 

Because of the marraige to Gwyn we kinda got the bigness in X&Y, the stadium tour, etc.

 

Look, I had respect for her, I tried to, but I just can't. I just do not like her anymore (I'm not sure if I ever did). Chris loves her, fair enough, blah blah blah. But I can't stand hypocrites.
