ummmmmmmmm............ Ive got to agree with the whole piano....thingy . almost every other artist i see comes up with a piano especially the new ones........ Since ALTERNATIVE music is the New Trend in the music Industry people seem to follow it... I guess the indie/alternative rise in the 00's is seen as the rising genre in the new millenium.... And I can see coldplay as the only example for that.

It's hip-hop/R&B that's pushing alternative out the window, you can see the change here already - Viva La Vida got beaten to #1 by No Air, plus many R&B/hip-hop artists dominate the charts. What does that say? Alternative rules supreme?

 

Sure there were a lot of other alternative artists popping up along with Coldplay, because people were interested in that genre again so they looked for similar acts, you can see this in music from 2005-mid 2007 as well. But I don't think it'll stay as the main popular type of music anymore.

Maybe there's only room at any point in time for one or two bands of Coldplay's stature and musical talent (i.e. not reliant on image or gimmicks).

Many imitators/pretenders come and go, but eventually you're only left with the real deal.;)

Coldplay are in my opinion one of the most elecrtifying examples of human creativity this world has seen in a long time.

 

They are the Michaelangelo of sound and emotion

 

they are the muse of charm and wonder

 

they are beauty in a sea of darkness

 

they are hope in an endless night.

 

 

they are this and they are and more than everything I have not said.

 

 

And that is just the start of how this band has affected me, what they mean to me and how feel.
