Tarkovsky2 Posted September 26, 2008 Share Posted September 26, 2008 So, I was in concert in Budapest, and after 1h and 30 min I was let's say sad.It was spectacle and nobody can deny it, but it the end you realize what coldplay becomes in front of your eyes.I listen to them from parachutes, and I love that coldplay sense of warmness, of warm philosophy let's say, beacuse you have plenty of ideals in Martin's lirycs, and plenty of wandering, but now it's all only spectacle, the louder the better.In dvd live 2003( which is my favourite film materials and I' m studying film directing) you see that they don't want to be boring, and for me they aren't , that gloom, darkness was beautiful to me, and now it's all bright everything is visible, everything is clear.They are not boring any more but they lost their spiritual side. They wanted to be more colourful and vibrant, you know cus everyone says they are dull. I too miss those kind of concerts, the Live 2003 is the best DVD ever, and the directing in that is top notch in my opinion! I miss it a bit too!! Philippians 4:8 I know what you mean, they had this sweet sadness and intimacy to their older stuff that I really loved. But the world is so dark right now, and their new stuff is so full of light and life, it's like the perfect antedote to all the darkness. I don't see how celebrating life can count as loosing your spiritual side. I don't know about anyone else, but hearing lines in happy songs like "I have no doubt, one day the sun will come out" and "it's such a perfect day", and in a display so full of colour and joy, I think it's wonderful. :nice: Wish I could see it live. Tarkovsky2 Posted September 26, 2008 Author Share Posted September 26, 2008 It's not about light and dark, in dvd 2003 they start with darkness and end in most beautifull light - clocks, life is for living.Offcours it's much easier to love viva la vida then daylight, but you will get more sincere emotions back then then now, cause world isn't just colourfull or dark, it's all mixed up, and doesn't everything have to be that big(jerusalem, bells, king), that's holywood film, you know, the bigger the better, because truth is in simplicity, like at the start - I saw sunrise I saw sunlight, or it was all yellow... I think they are still being led by other people. Would like to see what they could do on their own. It's good to play the old stuff with the new... not too much what they are doing these days sadly. Would be a much more interesting concert. After last tour, I could know what each move was going to be in what order of songs... that's pretty bad! OK, so not everyone can go to more than one show, but how versatile is this band? Can they not handle a large list of songs to choose from and change up a few each show? You can still have a big flashy production with some band choice picks here and there....the new stuff is nice, but the old stuff needs to be there too!
