i'm creating a date-table now on the assumption that the START date is november 1 and the STOP date is november 30, but it can always be changed if we decide differently :D

ok, so if for the sake of argument the DEADLINE is november 30, then the START DATE in my mind should be november 1.

 

if the start date is november 1, i think we should announce the address on october 30.

 

Why aren't we having people start as soon as we get the address from Debs? :thinking:

But if we get all of the details set by say, the 20th or something, will we go ahead and post the address then? Or still wait until the 30th?

I don't see any problem in start sending the postcards once we'll get all the details set :)

We might be overthinking this... granted, I have not been around this thread all night but it seems like we are in a good position now: wait for an address and input on dates from Debs, and in the meantime vote for the logo and things like that. :)

my response: good question :D. i just think we need to warn people of when we're posting the address, because it's going to be a bit nutso once it's up. whenever the start date is, i think the address should only be posted like, two days before that, even if we have it before.

But yes, I think it would be good to give warning before the address is posted-- however, why is a start date necessary? I would imagine that as soon as the P.O. box is ready we could begin sending, and therefore give more people a chance and time to send their postcards.

My one and only unique idea, which could be cool for others as well (ESPECIALLY THOSE OF US WHO HAVE MET/ TAKEN PICS WITH THE BAND) is to use the "make your own US postal stamp using your own photo"..... i`m gonna try to do this, maybe spark `ol Chrissy`s memory, lol !

Ok, just looked this up briefly before going to bed.....looks like the Postal Service shows 4 different sites you can choose from to create stamps from your own uploaded images.....

 

I didn`t attempt yet to create one, so I didnt get as far in the process as getting to a price guide, but it does look cool! as you can customize text and borders and get it all colour-coordinated like, which is nice! Have fun!

Ok, I couldn't follow the thread but now I see everything's clear..you guys had a great idea really and I'll join for sure..the problem is, will I be able to find a not too cheesy postcard of Venice? :lol:

 

One question, maybe you've already discussed it so someone can point me to the answer: about the hand made postcard, I'm not sure they'll accept it here at the post office, so, can we send it in an envelope? I've already got my idea for the hand made one sorted :nice:

 

Oh and I think I'm gonna promote the idea on coldplayzone, even though just a few members there read coldplaying regularly, I'm sure they would like to be part of the project :wink:
