I can judge a man based on his history in other politics and his words and actions. He wants to do failed polices how will a change in apparency but the same policies do anything?

He couldn't do anything in the past in local or state government, yet we expect him in federal government pushing failed policies to work? thats funny.

If we were to put a donkey into the office I'm sure you wouldn't be waiting to see in a few months how he does, its no different with Obama's failed policies and corruption, its just common sense.

Interesting response Nick. Though, I do recall you being a huge supporter of George W. Bush even though he ran Texas into the ground as governor. Why did you think Bush was such a great president if he screwed up as governor and then later as president...as we all know now. All I am saying is that regardless of how you feel about Obama, at least give the man a chance to be in power and try to lead the country. Even after bush won his stolen election, I still said I would at least give him the chance to be the leader of the country. Also, what's with comparing Obama to a donkey. Not a good metaphor my friend. You were wrong about Bush, I am hopeful you will be wrong about Obama. Time will tell.................

A lot has changed in the last few years. I started listening to the fact instead of seeing what I wanted or liked. When you do that in life you learn a lot of things personally and politically.

Obama is a smart man, but I have to look at one of two things, his policies in his history and what he has said he'll do, if we go by that we can see how bad of a president he'll be. He in fact will carry on most of Bush's failed policies or failed policies before Bush.( big defense spending, debt, attack on our constitution.)

Barack is only changing minor surface issue's that do not matter.

Now there is a chance he adapts and becomes a good president leaving behind his corrupt past and failed policies of the past, but from all signs so far he is not.

You can only judge a man's future by his past and what he say's he'll do.

I'm sort of in the same boat as Nick, because I also started out as a Bush supporter. I had been a Republican through high school, primarily because my parents were. But it was Bush's time in office, along with the constant Republican nostalgia for Ronald Reagan, that made me realize that ship had sailed long ago. The Republicans aren't principled.

The reason I don't trust that Obama will be a good president has to do with his background. He doesn't understand economics. I don't care how you spin it, he is simply WRONG (along with Bush) that holding interest rates low and making cheap loans to dying businesses will help this economy.

Obama is clearly capable of writing and understanding law. But that's only a technical skill. It's quite another thing to guide policy, and understand the domino effects policy will have in the real-world.
