what are yalls thoughts on gay marriage

 That's what I think. If it's a superficial relationship... I do not agree

"In San Francisco, demonstrators took shots at some religious groups that supported the ban, including a sign aimed at the Mormon church and its abandoned practice of polygamy that read: "You have three wives; I want one husband."

Chris Norberg, who married his partner in June, also referred to the racial divisions that arose after exit polls found that majorities of blacks and Hispanics supported the constitutional ban on same-sex marriage."

Well, from a legal standpoint I don't see what love has to do with it. Marriage, when you get down to the nitty-gritty isn't much more than a contract.

but anyway...my thoughts: I ain't not got no problem wit it!

if marriage didn't make things so much easier in terms of insurance and kid-raising and health issues and all other things, i wonder if i'd ever even want to. i see it as something that makes something easier in the legal sense, not much more.

i think it's a violation of human rights not to let gays marry. who the FUCK cares? let everyone do what they want. it doesn't have anything to do with anyone besides the two people getting married.

Who cares what 2 adults decide to do?, boys with boys, girls with girls it happens, and has happend for thousands of years get over it!!.

I have absolutely no idea why anyone would want to stand in the way of two people declaring their love in whatever way they choose to.

I've been with my boyfriend for 7 years, and I don't think our status will ever change, we're happy as we are, and don't feel the need to put a ring on each others finger. But the fact that some couples aren't allowed to make that choice astounds me. Why should any person, organisation or government have the right to tell people how to live their lives?

There was a debate about this and Prop 8 on Larry King last night. As someone else has already said, it's a no-brainer.

"Sadly, fueled by misinformation, distortions and lies, millions of voters went to the polls yesterday and said YES to bigotry, YES to discrimination, YES to second-class status for same-sex couples".

Gay people can get married for all I care but it will never happen in the Catholic Church.

Gay/lesbian marriage should be allowed. If they love each other, why not? They'd be married to each other, not to the society.

mm i don't get why when talking about it, people come to talk about religion and so what do priest do or not do...

i mean if we are talking about gay marriage what does religion has to do in it?.. if we are talking about the fact of marriage, that is to change one couple status..

but well going about the religion and gay marriage, i doubt it will be accepted on any religion, there's not only catholic christian religion which "forbids" or sees bad gay people... :dozey:

i saw an interesting report about that some time ago... it turned to talk about gay/trans people in Turkey (i think it was there) and how they have to hide and all that... (i'm going off-topic), homosexuality is forbid in their main religion but genre/sex change seems not.. :uhoh: so the report was about a guy that wanted to be a girl 'cause he felt a girl but he has boyfriend so... that would be considered as gay relationship... but see if he changes to be a girl all his status changes with it, he can get married with his partner and about heir system on his religion he gets as a women gets (that is less than a male)

btw i've always though that there's a lot of confussion on that stuff... i mean there are gay people that simply like people of their same sex and gay people who just feel as they are on a wrong body... so does both can be considered as be gay? or is just me who is confused about that? :inquisitive:

---

i've spoke too much  and went to off-topic.. :uhoh:

I was wondering about that, too. I don't know about those who feel they're not in the right body and fancy people of the same (biological) sex ... The more I think of it, the more I think this "gay" label should be discarded. After all, it doesn't matter so much who you fancy.

It's none of my business nor should it be the governments or anyone else's.

i agree with that. ;)

I was going to start a topic similar to this, but my question is similar: What are your thoughts about straight marriage? I mean half of them end in divorce and straights have kids who suffer psychological trauma as a result. I mean I don't have a problem with straight people, as long as they're not too... flamboyant about it.

Also, I read somewhere that straight people have WAY more abortions than gay people. So I'm really torn on the whole issue.

:dozey: Well put indeed, though.

Who cares what 2 adults decide to do?, boys with boys, girls with girls it happens, and has happend for thousands of years get over it!!.

hey katie :D

that's somethign that belong to each one's personal life so I don't see any point in not allowing it

is like if listening some kind of music or to have some political thoughts wasn't allowed either

the only think that makes me doubt a bit is adopting.. and I don't think that it shouldn't be legal, but sometimes the kids are really cruel ... but if the family has love to share I don't really see any problem in it...

I believe if you're gay you should have all the rights anyone has. Where does the Constitution say gay people can't get married?

A better question is when has someone listened to the constitution?:\
