yea ill admit im not calm right now. usually i really like everyone on here but that was just UNACCEPTABLE how everyone acted towards him. people didnt only get mad about not getting the music but they personally insulted him and thats just not right. i just thought most people here knew better...

this thread has taken fandom into ridiculousness. frankly, i'm less angry about not having the EP and more angry about the things i've seen go on here in the past two hours or so. twenty-odd pages of gloating, begging, and insults. this is the most un-coldplaying thread i've seen in ages.

 

in my opinion, i think hermes was very, very wrong in saying anything at all about having the EP and opening this thread, but right in not caving into the ridiculousness that has ensued. he's thick if he didn't see all this coming. i think everyone else was very wrong in letting this go on in the way it has for as long as it has, but right in being upset with the fact that someone had the nerve to blab about it. they're thick for thinking insults and on the knees begging would work. i'm not trying to be self-righteous here, because i've been lurking for the entire time (minus my few opening pleas for everyone to chill out) and have been so tempted to say something. my point is that there's a fine line between being a fan and being a jerk (on both sides), and i think the line was crossed by both parties. it's just something to think about.

 

leaving now. at any rate, we'll have the songs in some, albeit slightly bad quality form in less than 5 hours. i'd rather hear it in bad quality than not hear it at all, personally.

I understand that he was being a bit of a jerk by letting us know how great the EP is and then refusing to share, but you have to respect someone's personal values. If he doesn't want to do something illegal (which leaking is), that's fine. That's his personal standpoint on the issue, and there's nothing that can be done about that. I'm not taking his side, because it definitely was not nice to hold something we all so desperately want over our heads like that, but I can't blame him for getting pissed and leaving, either. We as a whole were really rude to him. Whatever happened to taking the high road?

The same here. I think from the very start it was already pretty rude how people just dissed him without any rationality. He even bothered to post pictures to show that he wasn't kidding us...

 

I thought coldplaying.com was a really nice place to discuss stuff abt coldplay's music but after what i've seen today...
