melanieau
Ian I can still clearly remember looking down the barrier at you when they asked us to "put our diamonds in the air" - you looked a lot like this - :whaaat:

Mimixxx
By the way there's a typically scathing review of this gig in the weeks NME :dozey:

Jayzo
By the way there's a typically scathing review of this gig in the weeks NME :dozey: I have always respected those guys :nice:.
Mimixxx
really? what's the gist? That it was a mistake to get Jay-Z to open for them as he was better (it's entitled Viva La Hova :dozey:) The costumes are ridiculous, the balloons are butterflies are soppy, the mass sing-a-longs don't make up for the fact that their songs are "debilitating to the soul" and that it felt more like watching an episode of Songs of Praise. Billie Jean was rubbish. It concludes saying: "If even in the credit crunch, the average listener still values live music as an essential pleasure, no matter what the support, well we can take comfort in that - even if we do have to sit through Coldplay to do so"

RedGirl76
I got told to fuck off by a former NME journalist on Twitter the other night - he was watching The South Bank Show just to criticise them and I suggested he might use his time more productively  Typical British cynicism... can't the press just be happy that one of the biggest bands in the world is British? Do they want the radio to be full of American rock like it was back in the day with Nirvana & Pearl Jam and every copycat band that came along after them? Mimixxx
So he told you to Fuck off? Wow, there's an indication of the spectacular way with words that most NME "journalists" have. :dozey:
RedGirl76
Well he did it in an amusing way... we had a couple of back-and-forth tweets and then I told him to try looking for the Off button on his TV, he responded "I'm looking for the fuck off button" But he wimped out by replacing the "uck" with symbols!
