December 12, 200817 yr Planning on staying for a week in London when Coldplay is playing on the 18+19th of September. Anyone know any fun things that you have to do/check out while you're there? :) All suggestions are welcome whether it's from local people who know whats overhyped, tourists who's tried different things themselves or random addicts who just read about stuff :) Figured I'd post here instead of going too much offtopic in the concert topic(s). Couldn't find any thread while searching around a lil' so created a new. Some random compilation with what you guys have said, saved for later so I can check up when the trip isn't 9 months away :P Big Ben London Eye Shopping on Oxford Street Stonehenge (Probably won't go myself tho ;)) Tate Modern (Modern Art) Trafalgar Squeeeee, err, square - National gallery / National portrait gallery To do: Get a Flake '99 at Hyde Park and send a picture to NewYorkDude Hamleys (Toy shop) Tower of London (Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress :P)

December 12, 200817 yr Author great idea athom :D will u share ur list with us, the lazzy ones? There you are rush! :D Of course, normally I'm known as the lazy ones but should be able to compile some decent list :) Only if you're a druid!!:P Haha, just brainstorming random ideas, don't think stonehenge would be too appealing unless i somehow get hooked on roleplaying, bringing a big cape and running around at stonehenge.. hmm :stunned: And thanks blue_girl, didn't you use to hang around in the coldplay.com chat a few years back? *deja vu feeling*
December 12, 200817 yr If I ever make it to London, I really want to go in the Eye of London. Giant ferris wheel hurray. :nice:
December 12, 200817 yr If you like Modern Art you should go to Tate Modern down by the river - if it's good weather, you can walk along the river and it's beautiful. Tate Modern is an impressive building anyway, even if you don't like what's inside. At Trafalgar Square, you can see the National Gallery & the National Portrait Gallery which is small but always worth a look. And for shopping and general ambiance you should go to Covent Garden.
December 12, 200817 yr If I ever make it to London, I really want to go in the Eye of London. Giant ferris wheel hurray. :nice: Oh, I forgot about the London Eye - you can book your ticket in advance online... saves wasting your time in a queue. You should defo do that - you get to see the whole city from a warm, dry pod!

December 12, 200817 yr good idea atomgrill. ;) we can plan it better on a separated thread. :) i really don't know what i'll be doing by next september, all i know is that i hope i've finished my degree few months before and that i'll go to 19th sept concert and that just few days later is my bday. :nice: so i'd like to be there for more than a week, surely the one before the gig and the one after the gig. (that's what i'd like, but i don't know what i'll can do). I'd like to visit some near areas, museums, monuments... yep typical touristic route more or less. i don't have a clear plan about what to do yet, as there is a so long time ahead, so...

December 13, 200817 yr Author Go somewhere other than London. I live in Sweden so everything in UK is just around the corner? ;) Any tips are welcome hence why the title has "UK" in it :)
December 13, 200817 yr visit the bakery! :D Oh, I forgot about the London Eye - you can book your ticket in advance online... saves wasting your time in a queue. You should defo do that - you get to see the whole city from a warm, dry pod! even if you get your ticket in advance online, you still have to wait in a queue to get on the actual thing if it's busy, like on a weekend. semy and i were under the impression that we would bypass the line if we booked online, but it turns out that the line to buy tickets was very short and the line to get on the eye was very long, and all ticketholders need to be in that line. anyway, just an FYI.
