I really really hope that it doesn't become a all Williams final again this year. Would more than welcome an all russian final instead, hoping that Dementieva can pull off a win against S.Williams always been a fan of hers.

But his game is markedly improved since he got this new coach and lost 15 pounds.

Yes, that's the main the main reason his form slumped - he turned into a porker!!:P

If even one of the Williams brothers doesn't make it through to the final I'll be happy as at least I'll feel like watching it and have someone to support.;)

I never knew you were a half decent player! Tell us more....

I consider myself to be a "competitive" club player.

I play for a team which has now been promoted two years in a row.

This year we have been promoted as runners-up. The only match we lost was against the team promoted as champions.

I won five out of my six singles matches, and was very satisfied with this.

I play as often as possible in summer, and on Sundays I usually play for at least four hours.

I enjoy playing very much. I am also a long-distance runner and will be running another half-marathon on Saturday.;)

you ain't Tim Henman are you??? Only kidding! Tim was a class player who was unlucky. A wonderful serve and volleyer he was.... a dying breed.

I totally agree. He came in for a lot of unfair criticism, mainly because he was unable to win Wimbledon, which wasn't from lack of trying.

There are few players who are even capable of winning a slam, and even fewer capable of winning Wimbledon.;)

Anyhow Murray v Roddick. Remember Murray sweeping Roddick away 3 years ago in straight sets in the 3rd round? The thing is that Roddick is playing better than he did now than in 06.... but so is Murray.

If Murray holds himself together and plays to his normal standard, he will beat Rod. No doubt about it.;)

Yeah, he's his own worst enemy much of the time, as we saw at the French.

His performance against Monfils was just plain embarrassing in every way imaginable. He really let himself down in that one.;)

Quite the athlete eh, Mark? :D I used to play tennis when I was really young but I lost touch with it a long time ago :shame: And running... well... I try my best :P

I'm a bit of a sport addict, I must confess.............................

So it's official!! Shrek's dad just said on TV that she's playing "like a man"!! So I was right!!:laugh3:

I don't like her style, but calling her "Shrek" is fucking stupid

Nope. It fits her perfectly.:smug:

It doesn't though and it's not even funny, you're just making yourself look like a knob by saying it.

Nope - you are, because we all think it's hilarious in here. So you'd better get used to it, or make like a tree.:smug:

Make like a tree and stay still growing at a very slow pace?

Like your brain, you mean??

I don't

Fair enough. There are always exceptions.

Dementieva's leading in the last set... Hopefully she'll continue playing well!

Guess it wasn't to be.

Was a close match, Dementieva was definitely playing very well. Pity she didn't manage to convert her match point.

Dementieva put up an excellent fight, but unfortunately Shrek prevailed yet again.

Now we'd better hope Saf can beat Penis or the final will be yet another non-event ..................... :dozey:

Poor Dementieva. :(

Great match, both players deserve credit. Dementieva's serve was alright in the first set the double faults started to creep in mid way through the second. At certain points in the match i really thought she had the chance to seal it but sadly it was not to be.

Agreed, really don't like to see another Williams-Williams match
