How important is your reputation to you? (@school,@work&online.)

not that important. I used to care too much about what other people think.. I've gotten a little better, but I still care way too much.

not that important I know who I am and people I care for, and the ones who truly are my friends know me... so what other people think of me is not something I care for.

me too lauren.

haha. nah que ricardo? nah te importa?

nah nah nah nah nah

well

it is

but it is not

I mean I don't like to be the center of attention, and I don't care for what people say about me, but I also want that they say good things about me

I want a good reputation at work, because a good reputation is better when promotions come around.

i care about the reputation of my manners, friendliness, helpfulness, and those sorts of things. other than that, i don't care what people think of me, but i do keep some things under-wraps just so i don't have to deal with mocking and stuff.

@ school:

i was respected by teachers, thought i was a good studend and i had a good behaviour, although i was so independant (i mean i wasn't on any closed social group in particular, and i talked with everyone without problems).

@ work: i think reputation is good, but i can't say much about that as my work experience is short. :uhoh:

@ online: i behave as i do in real life, but i have rules that i follow to avoid problems, which i've learnt for self-experience.

so to sum up: is good to have a good reputation. :)

oh, i completely agree with you chelsea, i think for me its most about my religious views that i keep to myself to avoid mocking, but i have to say that i feel the need to be polite to everyone most of the time and even if don't know them, but i'm not sure if it is because i care what they will think of me or because i like to treat others like i would like to be treaten.

^exactly, i just live by the golden rule in pretty much every case, even if i don't like the person. i'd like to be known as a good person that's friendly and polite, but i don't give a rat's ass about what people think of my taste in music or clothes or movies or anything like that, or my habits or whatever.

I like to have a good reputation. I don't want to be known as one who stands people up..or is unreliable. I also like to try to result conflicts the best way possible.

A reputation is basically for people who dont know you to know you by but isnt nessary for people who already know who you are like. Because i majority of people dont know what you are really like, its is good to maintain a good reputation.

^ I would say that it is important to have a good reputation for the people who you do know really well.

I try to make my reputation as terrible as possible, so that when people actually meet me they're always pleasantly surprised.

but they know you really well so if you try to fake a good reputation they will know.

i think reputation is always used to impress people that don't know you at all.

so you know.. you build a reputation as you get to know them more.
