yeah they ruled out live CD. much different then live DVD.

i have to agree with many people here. with a tour of this magnitude and, in honest appreciation of coldplay, creativity, there just has to be a live DVD.

Truly this is the biggest tour Coldplay has ever done. And if any of the reports are true, and Coldplay plan on doing smaller venues for their next tour, then this tour has to be a DVD because it generally makes more since to give the BIG tours a showing.

honestly, u2 has how many live DVDs? practically one for every tour. they made their live shows events. coldplay has done the same with the Viva tour. it needs to be showcased in DVD format.

honestly, i think it would be a great disappointment from the band if they didn't have a live dvd.

everytime i watch footage of their concerts on the South Bank Show i wince because its would be so lovely to have a coldplay dvd

i dont have the 2003 one :(

and does smaller venues mean less gigs?

or just smaller stadiums?

itd probly make it harder to get tickets cuz theres less seats huh?

but i guess the seat quality would be better because theres less of them between you and the stage???

i dk

The oracle just made things a bit more confussing :(

Q. I had 4 shows I attended interrupted by camera equipment and you say there are not plans for live CD/DVD? Seriously?

The Oracle replies:

I can understand why you may assume that but how do you think they film the images that are projected onto the big screens? I actually said there were no plans for a live album so cameras would have nothing to do with a CD. Before you get excited that does not mean there's going to be a DVD!

They don't confirm, but (the most important) also don't exclude one.

Please release Coldplay please release

They plan on playing at smaller venues? So Amphitheaters next tour?

And I totally agree with this post. They have to make a live DVD of this tour because it was two years long and it was a landmark tour in Coldplay's history.

Do you guys know anything about the live DVD? I just watched the live 2003 dvd and I really hope they release a dvd of this tour! It was such an amazing experience that I need to relive it at least through the dvd!

Coldplay Viva La Vida Live At Viva La Vida World Tour DVD Preview trailer 2009 in Barcelona Spain.

Done and Dusted, the DVD company behind the release of Coldplay's live 2003 DVD, has uploaded a trailer online to their website for Coldplay from back in 2009 when they played in Barcelona, sparking further rumours that a DVD from the Viva la Vida era will be released. The clip shows a three minutes live performance of Viva la Vida, and includes various audience shots as well as panoramic views from behind the stage.

It is still unknown whether this news will be officially confirmed or if the DVD will also include footage from other stadium shows, including Paris, Wembley and the Latin America concerts, but you can watch the Done and Dusted trailer via D&D's Youtube channel at the Coldplay forum now.

Coldplay apparently filmed the Barcelona concert for a live DVD, Spanish media newspapers widely reported before the concert, and according to the sources, the filming process took place place with a sophisticated camera system that included a high crane installed outside the stadium to capture aerial views of the show.

^^
