February 7, 200917 yr here[/url]. :P HAHAHA "here's a rush of blood to your head!" thanks for that :laugh3:
February 7, 200917 yr Yeah, it was really funny! I liked it when the presenter went: "Oh, good! They've come around!" :D Off topic: Lol crap. I wish I was in the states so I could watch that. Sorry about that. Here's a Chris/Gwyn [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjdehBaG2Cg]starveillance[/ame] episode, though.
February 7, 200917 yr Sorry about that. Here's a Chris/Gwyn starveillance episode, though. :laugh3: I wish they'd named Moses "Coldplay Martin"... I like how they have Chris play with the action figures :P
February 9, 200917 yr Wow I feel like I am the only person who doesn't like U2 on this site. lol I actually don't find Chris Martin and Bono to be similar. I seem to think they are completely different. (And it's a very good thing) I am just going to state that I dislike U2 only because I was never able to get into their music and I find Bono to be really arrogant. Oh, and when they performed at the Grammys he kept doing this thing with his leg that made him look like a dog peeing. Just looked strange. lol
February 9, 200917 yr Fuck off. First off Coldplay > U2, even if I like U2. Second Bono wishes he was Chris. :P
February 9, 200917 yr I love U2. But it shocks me when people say Chris looks like a douche performing... especially if they're 2 fans. Bono is soooo much worse.
February 9, 200917 yr Oh, and when they performed at the Grammys he kept doing this thing with his leg that made him look like a dog peeing. Just looked strange. lol lol, you've obviously never witnessed ther glory that was zootv/popmart :P
February 9, 200917 yr whatever U2 sucked at the grammy's their new single sucks and the song doesn't compare to any of the songs on Viva la Vida. I can't stand the U2 comparison! It's almost as annoying as the Joe Satriani comments. I don't think U2 when I listen to Coldplay. Bono and Chris are in different leagues when it comes to stage performance and looks dont compare at all either :P
February 10, 200917 yr ok heres the thing, i think coldplay is a really good studio band. rush of blood to the head had some amazing songs, warning sign and amsterdam were the best in my opinion. what made those songs so good is that it was coldplay being coldplay. i just wish chris martin stayed in the ``yellow`` mode, where he was being himself. the reason why i posted this was because a lot of people here went out of their way to take a swipe at u2. one guy even wrote in his signature since he couldnt find the u2 vs. coldplay thread, he wanted to say how shit u2 were, yadda yadda... does anyone here at least agree chris martin is very awkward on stage and when singing live has the voice of an animal caged up with a bad case of rabies YEah U2 and COldplay different and diff universes.. only meedge i dont like U2 single for their new album and it seems the world is confused also that u2 has gone tat way with that single its jsut down right dissapointing.... Chris martin is really good live and he has impressed me in shows.even ive never been in a concert live 2003 was really good in vocals!.... and how chris sang...plus bono sound like an old fart if you compare them two... Just love both if you say so..and pls.... in my opiinion bono ( this is not a hate thing) just me thinks.hes a grandpa better take time with his family dont make albums anymore.....stay where they are before they start making bad albums... which this new is i think becoming....lets hope not
February 10, 200917 yr If U2 and Coldplay were to face off...both in their 30's... U2: ZOO T.V ERA v.s Coldplay: VIVA ERA U2 would kick their ass...but Coldplay is better than U2 now. My poor boys are gettin old :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(
February 10, 200917 yr Fuck off. First off Coldplay > U2, even if I like U2. Second Bono wishes he was Chris. :P OH HELLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO! Martin's got a mancrush on Bono AND U KNOW IT! LOLOLOLO :laugh3::laugh3:

My poor boys are gettin old :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:( You are absolutley right. Now I'll admit, I like U2 more than Coldplay. But it really is an Apple and Oranges thing. Coldplay have only released 4 albums, U2 have released 10 more than that. What I find impressive about U2 is the fact that here they are 30 years later and still making new music and touring. And not just doing a greatest hits tour.....and the new studio stuff doesn't suck. (Although we have yet to hear No Line on the Horizon. It might suck, but hopefully it won't) Sure CHris Martin looks up to Bono. But I think Chris is at his best when he is just himself and not trying to be bigger than he is. I think this tour he has done that. Grammys 2006 is when my love for Coldplay started to dwindle when they played Talk. Mostly because it just seemed like Chris Martin was trying wayyy too hard to be like Bono...to make a name for himself. And he just ended up looking stupid. Grammys 2009..I was impressed, they were themselves and I liked that.
February 10, 200917 yr U2's style is totally different to coldplay if you compare their music the similarities and few and far between COLDPLAY RULES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
February 10, 200917 yr Wow. Well, I will just say I am a fan of both Coldplay and U2. I don't feel they are mutually exclusive. I really do not compare them. I don't find it necessary at all to compare my favorite bands. I like them, because they are who they are. Each with a different sound, different lyrical styles, different styles live. We all have influences. Coldplay are indeed influenced by U2. Perhaps here and there you will hear little patters of rain on the windows of their songs that remind you of The Edge. U2 were influenced by a lot of bands. Bono loves John Lennon. So perhaps you will hear a trickle of The Beatles, or hear the influence of John Lennon when Bono speaks out on stage. Am I comparing, no...what I am saying is every band is influenced by, or I guess one can even say practically given birth to, by another band, or bands. All of those sounds mix gently together until you have something new, and amazing. So music will go on forever, with or without petty arguments.

Coldplay is the Third Band.
February 10, 200917 yr OH HELLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO![/color][/b][/size] Martin's got a mancrush on Bono AND U KNOW IT! LOLOLOLO :laugh3::laugh3: But then again...... who doesn't he have a mancrush on???
February 10, 200917 yr I'm glad people are speaking up now and backing up Chris Martin. He is excellent live. He is excellent 24/7. Coldplay and U2 cannot be compared. End of story :)
February 10, 200917 yr They were both great bands in their prime, end of story! U2...well, their time in coming up (Sorry boys, it's true...I don't mean that in a mean way at all!) Coldplay are just entering theirs!

Coldplay are just entering theirs! Amm.... I wouldn't say that U2s time is coming up.. :\I'm sure they will still be able to come up with great new albums and I think their fans are the kind that will stick by them come what may. But, it IS true that Coldplay are reaching their heyday and they have to become greater than U2 ever was. And I would like to say, again how AWESOME Coldplay is on stage and what a great perfomer Chris is. I will not hear otherwise!!! :veryangry2: :P
February 11, 200917 yr ^Okay...I c were you are coming from...maybe I jumped the gun alittle bit on the last comment. PLEASE DON'T GET ME WRONG, U2 are still fantastic...but can they pull this off anymore? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTou_giXUEw]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTou_giXUEw[/ame] Coldplay can't touch that...but I'll allows stick by both bands :):):)
February 11, 200917 yr Lol, I've always said that bono making love to that camera had to be the highlight of his career. :D I think a nonfan would actually be quite a bit more impressed by their pure, roots-rock, rattle and hum phase that preceded it. I think it's was the audacity of that transition that made zootv so profound.
