We have threads for the hardest guitar riffs, hardest drum parts, and hardest basslines, why not Chris vocal parts?

1. Yes -ridiculously low notes

2. Amsterdam -the switches between falsetto and tenor in the verses

3. Speed of Sound -just a very high-pitched yet powerful song

4. Low -the whole end "I feel low" as well as the "you should try" at the end of the second verse

5. Fix You -just really high notes, you have to be very good with your falsetto

6. Shiver -can anybody hit those straining high notes "sing it loud and clear" without sounding like a dying dolphin?

What do you all think?

I agree with most of them. "Yes" is just out of reach for me. I find the note at the end of "I'm just so tired of this loneliness" the hard one. I can sing the rest alrigth I think :D

I find LIT2 really quite hard for the "Oh love don't let me go" and so on bit. If I do it down an octave it's fine :D

Referring to the melody Trouble is not so hard to sing in my opinion but to sing it like Chris is also very difficult. His voice is so fragile however there is a certain intensity in there, and that's not easy to imitate. Unfortunately he does not often sing like this anymore. His early voice was very remarkable.

His early voice kicked ass.

Also I admit I am limited by a limited range :P

Tough part about trouble is that first high note in each verse. It's not that you can't it hit it, but it's hard not to squeak when you sing it because it's held for just a second. It's really tough to feel the emotion of the lyrics and not sound really stupid while singing the verse. The delivery is tougher than the melody in a way.

Well, since I'm a girl, all the higher-pitched Coldplay songs don't bother me, but anything that's low (Yes, Violet Hill..etc...etc...) are hard for me to sing because they are so dang low! :D

I am a guy but i have a very wide range so I can literally sing from Yes to Yellow

they just don't sound great all the time:rolleyes:

GREEN EYES!

At the end I cannot do :bigcry:

  • 4 weeks later...

1 : Viva la Vida ( You can die before the end of the song ! You need to have a perfect breathing !)

2: Shiver ( very hard the "shiveeeeeeeeeeeeeeer")

3 : Fix you ( Fucking high notes)

4 : Only superstition ( High notes again)

5 : Yes (Only Chris can do it ! :laugh3:)

1 : Viva la Vida ( You can die before the end of the song ! You need to have a perfect breathing !)

Yeah I know.. I nearly die every time I sing it on Singstar:P Can't sing it twice in a row, without some air. (But my highest score is 9850 out of 10000, so it's nearly perfect:smug:)

I can't sing Yes and the last part of Amsterdam is too low for me, I just can't do it:\

Chris is awesome, just because he can sing all those songs. It's amazing!

:laugh3: What a hard song ! You are a great Singstar player, indeed !:D

I can sing several coldplay song except "Yes", "VLV" ( often, I do hyperventilation...:laugh3:), "Easy to Please", " Only Superstition". I break my voice on it !

During a coldplayic concert , I become mad, so I do not sing... I yell ! ( So, It does an awful sound ! :laugh3: You know, like a "Gremlin"...) I hope that they were not scared...:laugh3:

I totally agree with you. Chris is awesome !

swallowed in the sea and violet hill are very low and if you're not careful it will sound as if you're talking

About Yes, I think even the second verse is difficult, even if it's higher than the rest of the song, because of that "... let the windows doooOOooooOooooOOwwNNNNNNNNNNNNN" that nn goes on forever and his voice is vibrating so much, it's impossible to sing.

And yeah, I agree with Amsterdam as well, it has both really high ad really low points , i can't sing it without like 10 keychanges.

And the falsetto at the end of A message is INSANE!

When I first heard 'Yes', I couldn't get that low, but recently- I CAN! I am really proud, because no one on here seems to be able to :P, I am terrible at Viva La Vida though and strawberry swing? What others...hmm..... I'm really good at Lovers In Japan :P

I think "Politik" is difficult to sing. "Trouble" is also difficult.

I can actually sing "Yes" because I am blessed/cursed with a pretty friggen deep voice, which causes a straining falsetto for some songs, but I only really have a lot of trouble singing "Fix You", or at least that is the only one I can think of right now.

So is it a cool thing that I can sing both Yes and Fix You relatively well? Of course, I AM a lead singer so it is kind of my job to sing stuff

Amsterdam is bleh

there are many like this one, so hard.

by the way, cant believe nobody has mentioned CAREFUL WHERE YOU STAND, the whole song is insane, but then you arrive at the end and... whoa kickass falsetto:P

i always get impressed when hearing that song

There are quite a few difficult B-sides, actually, many of which are from the Parachutes/pre-Parachutes era. Parts of "For You", for example.

I've noticed lately that "What If" is also fairly difficult. Hard to jump from high tenor to falsetto mid-note like Chris does.

VLV is very easy, you just need to use "by the way" breathing technique. Its very easy if you master the quick breaths

Yes, is easier for me, but I cant hit the high notes.

Lovers In Japan, going that high in chest voice is unnatural...

Dyou think Chris needs to master the "by the way" breathing technique? :P

Fix You is actually one of the only Coldplay songs (besides VLV) that I can sing, oddly enough. I guess I'm good with the high notes. :P
