I'm not sure how accurate that final quote by Miley is, but this is a perfect example of why a lot of people can't stand Radiohead. Look, I'm no fan of Miley Cyrus. But what has she ever done to deserve that kind of treatment? Radiohead are too image-conscious.

Thom Yorke = 40 year old male

Miley Cyrus = 16 year old female

:laugh3:

But in all honesty, I don't think they're obligated to talk to every single celebrity who wants to talk to them.

Exactly. The never really wanted to be at the Grammys much anyway...the last thing they want to do is get a bunch of pics all over the web of themselves "hanging out" with Miley Cyrus, the pinnacle of everything wrong with American music.

If Miley was actually a Radiohead fan, she would have known better. If she actually paid much attention to their music, she would probably understand why.

It's the weirdos who start negative threads because a spoiled teenage brat is throwing a tantrum that confuse me.

Okay here is a question:

You walk into a restaurant. Thom Yorke is there having dinner with a guest. What would you do?

Climb onto his table singing Fake Plastic Trees and beg him to take a picture with me.

Question:

If they really didn't wanna be at the Grammy's, why go at all?

If you're gonna sit there and purposely look embarrassed, why make the choice to be there at all?

They wanted to be there to laugh at Chris Martin when Satch served him the lawsuit papers.

hmm... get whoever I'm with to "take a picture of me" with Thom over my shoulder so that I can annoy people with my story of being in the same restaurant as him for years to come? :idea2:

...but eating pictures always look bad.

Hardy har har. :p

But I dunno. I found that kind of stupid how they we're sitting there like "omg, this is so embarrassing."

No one forced you to go... you don't even have to enter your nominations if you're THAT against it.

I like their music. But a bit on themselves for sure.

What a load of shite.......:dozey:

they had the opportunity to perform a song with a big marching band. they took it. plus, they were nominated. of course you don't HAVE to go, but maybe they wanted to. They just don't do all the superficial meet and greet type of stuff. Why does being a famous musician mean you've got to be nice to everybody? they didn't sign up to be celebrities, they signed up to be musicians.

That's not what I'm talking about that though. I was talking about how when they were announcing an award, they panned into Radiohead... and Jonny was convering his face and Thom just look embarrassed. As thought they didn't want to be there and were embarrassed.

Like get over yourself. It was your choice.

Personally I like Thom more than Chris and I respect the fact that he turned her down like he did.

maybe that's just the kind of stuff you never get used to. I bet it happens with actors at awards shows too. they always look kind of awkward and smile uncomfortably.

They didn't look embarrassed to me. To me it looked more like they were all thinking "Of course the Americans would never choose us, they're all too stupid to appreciate In Rainbows".

yes. I'm sure that's exactly what they were thinking.

yes. I'm sure that's exactly what they were thinking.

could be. Most Americans are too dumb overall to appreciate In Rainbows.

yourself included? and myself?

I love In Rainbows. Still ranks 4th for me, but I love it all the same.

I still think they just looked embarrassed... but whatever. :p

Now I know there are a lot of people on here that likes Radiohead, so please respect my opinion. It is only my opinion. I don't like them. Radiohead are far too pretentious for my liking and are so arrogant that they never seem to praise any other band despite the praise they get. Also I'm not fooled like many reviewers into thinking Radiohead are intelligent. Radiohead create crap sounding music that everyone thinks sounds good, only that they are forced into thinking it sounds good because if you say something against this band then you are deemed "not intelligent". I won't be fooled personally. Thom Yorke is inferior to Chris Martin in every single way. The man can't even sing for God's sake! Why on earth are they not subject to criticism?? If they were so good they would have sold hundreds of millions of albums now in their 16 year career. As it turns out they've only sold 26 million albums in that period. Coldplay have sold 47 million in 8 years. Oasis sold 20 million on one album alone. They've got 50 million in around the same period as Radiohead. Album sales tell a lot for rock bands. The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, U2.... they've all sold them in their hundreds of millions, in The Beatles cases billions. Coldplay's music is much more loved than Radiohead's.

what a poor statement. I understand that it's your opinion but to say that thom yorke is inferior i just funny. if that's the case then how come chris martin is known for idolizing him (much like bono)? Also albums sales have nothing to do with how good a band is; only how popular. I mean, let's put it this way, The backstreet boys album millenium sold 40 million albums worldwide this is the 5th best selling album of all time. So by selling so many albums makes them so good? If that's the case then according to you Michael Jackson is the greatest musician of all time.

Honestly I used to like coldplay a lot, and there was a time that they were my 2nd favorite band, but after time I just realized how I feel they've completely sold out just to get sales. I mean I'm sorry to say that I don't think that we'll ever get another album like parachutes or arobtth again. Those were quality albums in which they cared about making music for the sake of making music. now I get the impression they just want to get sales.

look, overall music is up to opinion, so you have your right, and I have my right.
