Toothbrush

Featured Replies

For some reason I do water, toothpaste, then water again.

I have no idea why. It doesn't make much sense now that I'm thinking about it

Yeah Briggins, your friends are definitely the weird ones. :P I put water on first too, and I always have.

What steps do you take before you brush your teeth?

My friends think this is strange but I put water on my toothbrush first, then put the toothpaste on. I always use cold water as well.

I do that too!

i used to do water, then paste, then water again, but my dentist told me not to put water on it

a friend of mine, who is studying to become a dentist, also told me that... but I don't remember why... I'll ask her again :P

oh ok thanks that would be awesome!

NO! One packet I got didn't even HAVE a silver cutter thing!

Well, if you really want to floss, there's always those floss stick things (forgot what they're called).

Make sure to come back here and tell us what she says. :P

she's offline now, I'll ask her as soon as I can :)

i used to floss every night. then i got braces. but since i got the braces off i havent been able to get back in the habit.

My friend is the opposite. After she got her braces off she got very anal about flossing. She brushes, then flosses, then brushes again.

I put water on the bristles and then add toothpaste. I used to put water on it again afterward when I was really young, because my toothpaste was so minty it was a little painful, but now I just brush like that - I don't want to wash away the cleaning stuff in it.

I'm definitely going to have to talk to my friends about this one again.

For some reason I do water, toothpaste, then water again.

I do the same.

And now I'm also thinking why.

water, paste, brush, floss (unless i'm feeling super lazy)

I've sometimes brushed without rinsing the toothbrush first and that TOTALLY sucked.

Water on the brush, water in the mouth to do some sort of pre-wash, toothpaste on the brush, push the button to start the toothbrush vibrations, wash the brush again and brush the teeth with the brush with just water, before another lot of water in the mouth to get rid of any objects.

Floss is evil when it breaks off in between your teeth.

One pet peeve is people who waste so much water...like they leave the tap running full blast the whole time. Such a waste.

I agree, also expensive if you have a water meter

Last dentist appointment they told me my brushing has improved haha.

last dentist appointment they told me I needed to floss more, like I have 30 minutes every night to do flossing

Floss is evil when it breaks off in between your teeth.

OH MY GOD, I KNOW, RIGHT? Every time I try to floss it seems like it breaks and gets stuck in my teeth.

And sometimes it gets stuck and I can't get it out and then later I'll be eating breakfast or something and I'll accidentally swallow it.

You can all start feeling sorry for me now. Go ahead.

I feel weird saying this after I read the thread, but I actually just put the toothpaste on and don't worry about water of any sort until I'm through brushing, then use water to rinse.

Also, ever since I got my last toothbrush, I've gained an unusual habit. My toothbrush is one of those with a tongue cleaner on it, so I've become very OCD about using it whenever I brush. :\

There are seperate tongue cleaners on toothbrushes? O_o

I just scrub the surface of my tounge each morning because it gets rid of the morning-breath-rotten-mouth-feeling. Except if I stick it too far on the back of my tongue it sort of makes me gag, which isn't nice.

Wow, I never knew dental hygene could be so interesting!! :D

Sure there are! They're usually located on the back of the top of the toothbrush.

SERIOUSLY??

waiiit, do you mean that little claw-like pick thing you see on some toothbrushes??

Yeeeeeah. That's what that's for.

...Wait. Claw thing? o_O
