Rosetta Stone?

Featured Replies

I want to learn French, and was thinking about buying the Rosetta Stone. Does anyone know if it is any good?

I'm sure it's the best software you can get. I heard of another good way to learn languages, and it involves learning the top 100 most commonly-spoken words first. Then from there you can pick up on what the rest means.

That makes a lot of sense. I think I'm going to buy level one and give it a try, my college only offers Spanish and I'm far more interested in other languages.

Roseta Stone? is it good to learn english too?

I don't know about Rosetta Stone, but livemocha.com is always a good (and free) way to learn a new language...

French is never bad in a country that is bilingual.

Expanding knowledge is never a waste of time, my good sir.

That is all.

Seconded. Then again, I'm a nerd, so.

I tried Rosetta Stone's trial thing and it was amazing, I still remember every word from it even though I tried it... like, six months ago. I've also heard it works very, very well. Only it's really expensive.

What I meant was that your time can be better spent learning other languages which are more common.

Arabic is very useful actually. You can get some really nice government jobs if you can speak it.

French isn't that uncommon of a language. 53 countries of the world use French as a native tongue.

Everybody should just speak Chinese or shut up.

You just said that sentence in English bro.

That was an ancient Chinese proverb that had been translated into English by Confucius. So is what I'm saying now.

Well, not very many people would have understood if he said it in Chinese. I know I wouldn't have.

Lol that reminds me of the episode where Ari does shrooms in Joshua Tree National Park.

CONFUCIUS SAY

One of Lloyd/Ari's best moments. I really want to watch that episode now.

That and the episode of the Aquaman release when Lloyd brings the little chinese doll to the office for luck and Ari smashes it.
