Wow. The more you guys discuss this 2nd season, the more seperate this show becomes.....from the book, that is. So far, hardly any of the situations you all are talking about actually happens in the books! It's like reading fanfiction, a'la HBO style! If you guys read the books, it'll be a whole new experience for all these characters! :laugh3:

I really hope the Fellowship of the Sun leader gets what he deserves, I just find him so irritating.

I have watched 2 episodes of this and it is so shit, I am gunna stick with it in the hope that it gets better, but I wrote this for another forum:

 

Well I just watched the first episode and I am reallly unimpressed

 

Sookie is probably the worst main character I have ever seen in a TV show. She is like a parody of a parody of every female character in a horror film, she reminds me of a character from like Scary Movie or Not Another Teen Movie, she's ridiculous. "hey instead of talking now in the bar, meet me outside at 1:30 when I am alone and it's dark and nobody else is around"...wonder if anything was gunna happen to her... :o

 

It just seems really badly written...at one point the owner of the bar asked someone to take over for him while he and Suckie (as they pronounce it) while she was off saving Vampires he just seemed to stand outside his bar staring into open space for 20 minutes until she returned, it was like something out of a video game, where a character is inexplicably waiting for you to complete part of the level.

 

Then we have Suckie's mind reading...I don't get it...why? It's so needless and Anna Paquin is really shit at acting those bits out and the really clichéd way the voices work, like Matt Parkman in Heroes but about 100 times shitter. I can't describe it, there is just something that really annoys me about her.

 

I got told there was a lot of needless sex in it but like 30 seconds in a man is getting a handjob and it's for like no reason at all, "yeah I'll just drive with one hand and wank you off with the other" perfectly normal and sensible way to start a TV show. Later on, to quote Flo "and then they watched the tape of the vampfucker being fucked by a vamp while they themselves were fucking" with the loltastic piece of dialog "you like that uh? you like it rough uh?"

 

At this stage all I like about the show is the opening theme song with the really great creepy stuff going on behind it (+ "God Hates Fangs" :D ) and the 2 black characters, who I hope are meant to be funny, cos I did lol at them. I think it's safe to say that at some point we will also have an "OMG THEY WERE A VAMPIRE ALL ALONG?" moment, the retractable fangs make it easy for them to do that, I just hope they do it a bit better than BSG did with some of their cylons :/

Episode 2 wasn't much better, I laughed out loud a few times at how bad it was

 

and the ending was particularly hilarious, where she shows up at Bill's house and one of them goes "smells like fresh meat" so their fangs pop out, you know cos they are mechanical and then the bald guy from the sex tape is behind her hissing and wiggling his tongue, I am laughing now just thinking about it

 

Please tell me it gets better, I want to like this show, it's just really bad so far, like really bad, I don't get why it's so highly rated because even if the story does improve everything else about it is so shit.

^season 1? It DOES GET BETTER... I'm freaking out here because i have to wait til Monday to see it :\ It's a great show... season 2 is much better... I also like opening song...

1st. Sarah and her crazy ass, actually had the nerve to tell Jason to find a brain cell !!! look who's talking LOL, but I'm glad he finally found a clue and stood up for his sister and kicked some ass... favorite part of that whole church scene was when he shot Rev Newland square in the middle of his forehead w/ the paintball :laugh3::laugh3:... I still think Godric and Eric should have killed his crazy ass, cuz now look what's happened. Freakin Luke and his "suicide bomber" act at the end. Hmmm wonder who'll die after he goes boom!!!

 

Eric is the shit man, I think he needs a woman, and NOT Sookie, she's way to high maintenance/whinny/annoying for him. Too bad he's so under Godric's spell right now that he won't do anything Godric doesn't want him to. Godric telling the Rev, "I'm older than your Jesus" kinda threw him for a loop I think... don't think he was expecting that out of a 'vamps' mouth

 

Tara and Benedict getting all violent and hyper sexual after eating that "hunters pie" I'm sorry but how could you not get grossed out after cutting into it it bleeds?! :stunned: yet they ate it anyway. That whole scene just weirded me out. Hopefully Lafayette will talk some sense into her. He's got some suspicions about Eggs so maybe she'll listen.

 

Poor Jessica and Hoyt, damn that girl can't catch a break. I never thought about that aspect of her being a virgin at the time she was made, that's too bad. Love how he tried to comfort her but she's too upset to understand the sentiment, but at the same time I'm with her, how would you like to go through that EVERY time you have sex, YIKES.

 

Last but not least Sam, that guy has no luck whatsoever, well at least he's safe for now in jail, and poor Det Belfleur he's such a nutty nut job now that no body believes him, even when he's telling the truth :lol:

 

next week man should be good!!!

Eric is the bomb... i love when they were at the church and he tried acting like one of the Fellowship guys, I lol'd. The bond between him and Godric is super strong and I :heart: Godric he's the bomb :p Anyways, I actually though Jason got shot but surprisingly it was just a paintball gun? jeez... he was a hero nonetheless. Can't wait for Sunday's episode :D

 

 

Oh and yes, LaFayette and his cards are telling him the stars are not aligned with Eggs... I really want to know what's up with him though... hmmm... we shall see!!

I can't decide how I feel about it

 

In every episode I have laughed out loud at least twice, I have cringed at least twice but then there are some genuinely good bits thrown in too. It's such a mixed bag, I can't deny that it's entertaining but I still wouldn't say it was a good show.
