LeftRightLeftRightLeft...SONG

Featured Replies

Is LeftRightLeftRightLeft the song going to be available to download too?

I'm slightly confused about this. I know this is a track they didn't release, but none of this stuff seems to suggest that it will be released as well.

If that is the case...then why is the album called LRLRL?

I suppose it all just depends how you look at it. I could totally see it though as an extension to death and all of his friends

I predict it will be a hidden bonus track on the free CD.

Ditto... plus there are only 9 tracks which struck me as sort of odd...

This should be interesting.

I just don't see why they'd call it that if they weren't going to release the song.

Its like collecting pokemon or something, seeing these mysterious songs from the early tracklists spontaneously show up in the form of E.P.'s and live albums.

I think they'll release it somehow. If not with the album, then as a single track.

No one knows except for the band, but I think (hope) that it will.

It would be kind of silly to name the album "LeftRightLeftRightLeft" and not include a song with the same title.

Free downloadable track on May 15th.

Errr... where exactly does it say that?

yeah that's what I was confused about too. I think the "free download" thing on may 15th.. is just going to be a song called "LeftRightLeftRightLeft" I don't think they're going to give away the whole live album.. but I might be wrong.

I do hope it's a hidden track. That would be a great surprise. :)

Leftrightleftrightleft the song will be free off coldplay.com

the Live CD is meant to be a very limited rare release. Only concert goers will get one.

Yeah, after reading it again that is a possibility, but I really doubt it because they would've mentioned something about LRLRL being a unheard new track or something like that.

I think it'll just be a hidden track.

yah ok so what i was getting from the message was that the live cd would go out to concertgoers and that the track leftrightleftrightleft would be a free download by itself on may 15th.

i suppose it could end up being a hidden track as well, but im pretty sure that the track by itself is a free download on may 15th.

There was an article in my newspaper today that said the whole ALBUM would be a free download, not just the song.

But they could have easily misinterpreted it too. Time for someone to ask the Oracle!

Maybe. But I dunno, I don't think the casual fans who follow them on twitter or whatever would eknow that LRLRL is a song. So, I just think that they'd mention it was an unreleased track or whatever.

not really, the title of the post at coldplay.com says

"Nine track album to be available at shows and online"

On Coldplay.com I think it's the ALBUM that will be available since they don't make any additional distinction that it's a single. Even in the Coldplay Messenger email it said that the physical copy is only available at the concerts but the digital copy will be available on Coldplay.com for those not able to go to a concert...

"Starting with the band's first North American tour date, at West Palm Beach in Florida on May 15th, every fan attending a show will be given a free copy of the nine-track CD, which won't be available elsewhere. Also on May 15th, LeftRightLeftRightLeft will be made available as a free download right here at Coldplay.com, for all fans (and for the same time period)."

I think if we get the single at all, it will be a bonus track on the physical CD...

I guess we won't know for sure until May 15th, but that's my hunch based on the wording.

yah im pretty sure they're making the whole album downloadable. i remember reading that i think...

here's directly from anchorman:

"Good morning. We're pleased to announce that Coldplay will be giving away a live CD, LeftRightLeftRightLeft, at every remaining live show in 2009 (apart from festival shows). Starting with the band's first North American tour date, at West Palm Beach in Florida on May 15th, every fan attending a show will be given a free copy of the nine-track CD, which won't be available elsewhere. Also on May 15th, LeftRightLeftRightLeft will be made available as a free download right here at Coldplay.com, for all fans (and for the same time period).

According to the band, the give-away is meant as a recession-busting mark of gratitude to everyone who's supported them: 'Playing live is what we love. This album is a thank you to our fans – the people who give us a reason to do it and make it happen.'"

im not sure where i read that it would be downloadable but i think i read it somewhere.

i remember reading that we would get the single on coldplaying twitter so i think ian may have got it mixed up

Come on May 15th!!!

Based on my basic estimation (tracks may be longer) from the studio releases of the songs

1. Glass of water - 4:45

2. 42 - 3:57

3. Clocks - 5:09

4. Strawberry Swing - 4:10

5. The Hardest Part - 4:25 / Postcards From Far Away 0:48

6. Viva La Vida - 4:02

7. Death Will Never Conquer - 1:16

8. Fix You - 4:55

9. Death And All His Friends - 3:32

Approximately 37 Mins.

Now, wasn't it Coldplay's Rule to ONLY release ALBUMS from now on (yes, coldplay.com said this is a live album) to be 'No longer than 42 Mins', and 'No longer than 9 Tracks'?

I guess this gives us plenty of space for an extra hidden track!!!
